Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Details updated on Tuesday. Got the email with $20 code this afternoon. Still thinking which bottle to get…
I haven't got the code yet. Maybe I will online chat with them tomorrow. I am thinking to get Wynns John Riddoch or the Beringer Private Reserve. Any one tried the Beringer Private Reserve CS?

Tried the Beringer - wouldn't rush to buy it (I think it needs age).

Got one Beringer in the cellar.
Was thinking either JR or Michael.

It's either 2016 or 2018 JR for me.

2016 scored 100 points, 2019 scored 99 points & overall higher from various critics.

I try collect 99/100 point wines, recently they're all going up in price where I won't be able to afford them.

Depends who is scoring.
AC and JH scores are notoriously inflated.
The JH team tried to fix the problem by changing the scoring system recently and it does seems to be more realistic.

2016 AC100, JH98.
I don't see AC hand out that many 100 point scores, let alone for wines you can score for under $100?

He only rated the 2018 1 point above everyone else, doesn't seem far off the mark.
99 PointsAndrew Caillard MW
98 PointsTony Love
98 PointsAngus Hughson
98 PointsHuon Hooke
98 PointsRay Jordan
98 PointsKen Gargett
97 PointsJane Faulkner (Halliday Wine Companion)
97 PointsDecanter.

I mean I would be concerned, if someone rated a wine 98 points and all the other critics were rating it for 4-5 points lower.

It does happen often, I normally look out for WF.

Yeah, it seems like half of us didn't receive the SMS.

Do you think we have to individually call them, or did it seem like they were going to look into it?

I have no idea will they do the same for everyone or not. The online agent said she will process again for me but I still receive nothing for almost half hour.

Bought some Deer Farm, my last order from them was 21/03/2021 and 11/04/2020 before that, so it looks like this time of year is the only time I ever think Cellardoor is worth buying from!
