Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Great deal on a 6 pack of 2008 Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Halliday 5 red star Yarra Valley producer, Punch Wines. All rate 95 or 96 on Halliday, 94 or 95 on WIne Front. $280 is half what you would pay for the current vintages. Free Vic delivery.

Re SB and CR, for some time now I have regarded the expected reward as a bonus only. ie if it doesn't track or doesn't get paid out, would I still purchase. That doesn't excuse their behaviour, but gives me a reasonable base for decision.

This seems a highly sensible sanity-preserving strategy. Thanks for the tip. But sometimes the cashback is the difference between ok and A DEAL. Eeek.

It seems to usually track within a few minutes. Can always just ring up the retailer and cancel the order if you don't get notified of the cashback...

The 2008 chardonnay could possibly be past it by now. The winefront guys are generally fairly conservative with their drinking windows but they only had it out to 2014.

I had a cleanskin 200& Chardonnay this year (from their $60 mystery 6 pack) and it was really good, drinking like a much, much younger wine, so I am hopeful the Lance’s one is even better. Anyhow, I ordered a case so will advise.

When searching wines on the Dans website you used to be able to filter by 'Availability' in your local store. I cant seem to find that now

It was useful when checking if a particular Dans store had stock of an item quickly and also those on clearance (ending in .88c)
Does anyone know if you can still do that somehow or has the functionality been removed?

What else was in the mystery pack? Any chance of picking up one of their Pinots in it?

I don't think you can filter but if you sort by relevance then out of stock appears at end of list, not nearly as useful but still works.

it helps by removing 'Direct from Supplier' also but where you would have 800 wines you now have 2,400.
It also shows 'Delivery Only' items which is a pain. I've also found with the new website, it will show an item not in stock but if you refresh the screen it shows as in stock. Very frustrating

There was a 2011 cleanskin Pinot, and a 2009 Friends of Punch Pinot, though I was told the latter was almost gone. Also a Rosé, pet Nat and Shiraz. It is a lucky dip!

You can search vinomofo by the deal no, or dm under wraps by the URL. If you don't find anything, it's welcome to publish the mystery and tell everyone what it is.

Yeah, the latest changes to the DM site made a bad experience much worse.
Maybe implemented to stop people shopping around different stores.

Great work in getting this up and running.

By the way, have you considered?
1. Having an "expired deal" or "out of stock" stamp?
2. Can the link to the wrap linked from the front page? Rather than having to go another page to click on the link?

Just a couple of suggestion to make it easy to browse.

By the way I use my mobile not computer, so I don't know if it's diff view.

Don't quote me on this one but I'm probably ~80% sure this one would be Balnaves The Tally Cabernet. There are two separate listings for the 2010 and 2014 Tally that correspond to same full price ($92.50 pb).

And I reckon this is 2017 Giant Steps Harrys Monster

Good suggestion, will definitely do it in the future. Currently, not all the page is optimized for mobile, will fix it soon.

Great work Paddywide.
Another suggestion would be to archive/delete expired deals past 6 months or so. A number of us give underwrap other hidden deals as gifts and hate to have a mate google the wine to discover we paid a third of the price ;)

I got call from Quantas Wine yesterday and offered me a good deal: 80/bottle for Balnaves 2010 Vitage :)
