Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Picked up my WB today. 3 x 2016, 2 x 2017 and the black is 2016. Couldn't get at my local so had to go to another a few suburbs away.

Different in every store. Google BWS clearance and then select any store nearby and it will show you what's available. Still seems to be a bit around in Adeliade.

Found some at 50%< unsure if their good wines tho. It says $60 offer, but what does that mean? Bottle is $37.5 all bottles in stock at different stores, totally different prices store to store lol

I don't know Black Grape but all others are good names. Value very subjective of course. Suspect there would be a few takers are around half price.....

There are 4 different sales tags that BWS runs online, Clearance - save $XX, Supersavers, rewards $XX offer, 2 for $XX. Due to their ridiculous markups, it is generally only worth purchasing Clearance - save $XX tags, where $XX represents half the original price. A quick google will often determine if a wine is "good", even using a 4 star benchmark from vivino is somewhat adequate on the fly.

Unfortunately, you are coming in two days late to the party, and people here are like vultures. 😇

I've actually been trying to save money, so avoided this forum! Bahahaha
I'm trying to buy a house and they keep getting more expensive!.

I guess I'll pick up some left over crumbs 🤣🤣🤣

Do BWS price match their own stores? Each store says find, I go to that store and it's not in their clearance section. So basically nothing seems to be available at clearance price.

This is also my experience here in the ACT. Nothing in the vicinity of 50% discount in the two stores I looked at, more like 10-15%. I could not be bothered with enquiring about price matches using interstate screenshots from here. Plenty of stock on the shelves of Octavius, Old Block, Shadrach etc.

I've bought quite a bit from them over the years, from about 2009, good honest reds, full-flavoured if not overly complex and a little rustic at times. Better and more interesting than most of the big company and chain own-labels at similar prices.
Thank you, will give them a try later

There used to be some decent stuff at the Mawson, sometimes at Woden too but seem to have dried up in the last 12 months. Seems like Canberra Centre is the only place with anything worth getting. Kambah had a lone bottle of $30 Euphonium and that's about it.

Funny how many Canberra guys there are on this forum... Perhaps an indication of the current state of the atmosphere in our fair city. Time for a quiet drink!

I can confirm BWS dickson (x2) yesterday had nothing like what was being sent around on this forum elsewhere (like $70 moss wood or Wynn's Michael, which I would have seized immediately!). And I confirm that the chap in dickson said they don't price match.

Gilbert St store had Eileen Hardy 15 & Octavius 14 under $60 so grabbed a few + the Johanns 16 @ $28.

Noticed shelf price was higher than online. Not much else around the other stores.
