Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Is this normal that Dan's would price match a sale item from another store? How much for the quintets? I'm afraid to try this on

... and do they enforce a time limit on the docket you show as evidence?

Well it depends, technically if it isn't a clearance sale they should match it assuming the sale is still on. Also the Dan's needs to be within 10km of the vintage cellars. But most staff don't know that last point. Just give it a crack. The difficulty I found is most Dan's don't have much stock on hand

...and lastly the Dan's website says they want an original docket or voucher. What did you use? A pic from this forum?

A few more VC deals to add.
2012 Wynns V&A lane shiraz $19.99. I bought all they had.
2014 WB Plat $59.99 - was still a lot left at paddington
2016 Deep Woods Single Vineyard Cabernet Malbec - $10 best deal of the lot in my opinion.
some burgundys
a 2009 1er cru vosne romanee (drank saturday night forgot the producer- not one I knew) $80 I wish they had more.
2014 Leroy Bourgogne Blanc $60. Always wanted to try Leroy so this was a good chance.

It would still be good to see if anybody has tried it. All the reviews seem to be for older vintages and it looks like there was a change of winemaker from the 2014 vintage.
I have tried A bottle of 2003. Big big fruit and bit of heat like your usual Barossa Shiraz. Good winter wine. Not sure how the younger ones perform

Woolworths bought the "brand" from Langmeil in 2013 Woolworths buys premium Barossa label - The Shout
Now made at Dorrien Estate (Cellarmasters).
The 2015 was released earlier this year, $480/6 in a wooden box from Cellarmasters.

VC East Village, Double Bay and Beecroft are a waste of time even the guy at Beecroft says we're out of anything decent. Will check Chatswood (the one on Pacific Hwy) tomorrow. The Chatswood Chase one was out of anything decent when I was there last weekend.

Checked out VC Melbourne city today. Not much about. Picked up pacha mama shiraz for $10, handpicked pinot noir $10 and a bottle of Archie rose gin for $60

Well well, who needs your sold out VC when one can drop to yr friendly Dan's.

I asked the nice chap, 'do you price match VC' and he happily stated 'No, we dont... we price beat!'. So I took him to my selection and showed him the pics I had of my docket for the Octavius and the VC shelf label for quintets... he checked with the manager and we were all good. He did say they were crazy prices...

... note that Dan's starting price for octavius was not the positively stupid $175 VC had on the label. 'True pricing' strikes again!

Soz buddy, I've got the scoop on the Northern shops. I can assure both Chatswoods are cleaned out, short of a few bubbles and that Penfolds baiju mix 🥵

Also wouldn’t waste time going to Macquarie Park, all they had left was a couple of bottles of the WB Platinum which I took off their hands.
