Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Thanks @redbigot I will get these to restock my cellar. I go Diana Madeline and the MossWood now that Penfolds pricing is ridiculous.
Penfolds pricing has been ridiculous for a long time now. I sold most of what I had, down to a few bottles of St Henri left in my cellar. I started buying Penfolds in the early 70's, they used to be a staple in the cellar until it became a shareholder-focussed business rather than a customer-focussed winery.

If buying from Nick's it can often be more cost effective to buy from their Ebay store. Right now if you bought the Moss Wood via the Ebay app you can use the PEACE5 code to get $20 off $200, $30 of $300, $50 off $500, $100 off $1000 or $200 off $2000

On eBay Nicks is listed as the 2015
Dan Murphy Ebay also has it, listed as 2016

Yes, good strategy.
It's unusual for Nicks to have a different vintage on eBay and on their own site, I suspect you would get the 2016 from the eBay order.
Buy from Nicks rather than Dan Murphy! eBay orders are generally sent via Aus Post I think, direct orders by Fastway by default, Aus Post if you ask nicely.

Good to know about Nick's Ebay. I was in nick's today. Picked up some cracking black Penny's hill, the Ring Bolt Barriques 21 cab sav. Also got the 2014 tatiarra caravan of dreams. I've had their standard shiraz and its superb. I'm told Tatiarra are no more which is sad so I might make another visit to stock up.

I’ve tried the ‘17 tosq and didn’t rate it at all. Very green
The 18 is far too young at this stage and needs more time. Huon Hooke says it’s from 2021 onwards but needs another 3 years in the cellar in my opinion.
I wouldn’t pay $75 for it that’s for sure but for under $30 it’s not a bad drop - just needs time to develop

Use code: 25SUMMER with Cellarmasters to get 25% off your total. There may be some restrictions, but this does appear to be working with champagne and Penfolds.
Cool. Grabbed some Irvine Zinfandel RRP $45, Half price and 25% off makes it $101 for 6...

Yes. ;)
You may also find some useful information on a fishing fly.

I've pm'd the two above who asked for info.

Thanks redbigot - have had a quick look at your site. I am in the situation that I love to seek bargains and have some time to do so - so not sure if I would be a giver or a taker there yet! ;)

But it is very attractive - will ponder over the next week or two. What is clear to me is that the sale of wines in Australia is a rare beast where the product/price relationship is fickle, and you appear to offer a way to mine that dynamic to the members advantage... Good stuff!

I gave the Irvin Zin 2.5/5. Was a bit disappointed with cool climate Zin. Lacks muscle, depth and complexity. If you’re into Tassie Shiraz you might be okay for a summer red.

On another note... Any ideas on this?
I'd put money on it being Hares Chase Ironscraper. From memory this is the same speil they had for it back in 2018, mind you some ended up getting the Hares Chase Marananga Shiraz also. Still decent at $19.90, was even better at $14.90 which i though it was last time. Amazed they still have any left actually. I'm keeping my eyes out for the 2017 to hit the Under Wraps list.

The "Dark, brooding colour and palate to match" seems straight from mattinsons review. It also matches the 93 point symbol, but then the stated 94 in the text.

Looks like the code got canned - invalid code at checkout. Probably all the people abusing the Grange & Krug 6-packs ;)
