Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Ahh...the Hunter, that well known cool climate region known for Pinot Noir....or not. Given it needs to be cleared off like this, probably says it all.

It really depends on the winemaker, mount pleasant and Tyrrell’s are the only hunter Pinot I like so far , use to like meerea park as well but the last few vintages makes me want to cry.

Just did a search on the winecompanion site, it could be the Tyrrell’s special release Pinot, same alcohol level and around the same price. the shiraz Pinot I tried is very smashable right now, I don’t even know this special release Pinot existed until today.

You have to start with good fruit. Pinot is extremely finicky and in general, the Hunter is not conducive to great Pinot fruit. My real point is taking a punt on a variety from a region not known for it is more than likely to end in disappointment.

I know what you mean , but Pinot are once known to be a solid fruit back in the early days, that’s how the Shiraz Pinot blend came along, maybe they are making a come back? the only Pinot I can recommend now is the mount pleasant mothervine and Tyrrell’s vat 6 .

Interesting pricing for 5 bottles: $798 with $753.50 discount. If Shopback tracks at the full price that's a further ~$32 discount. Net cost of about $2.50 a bottle.

Very interesting. Jumped on the 5 but went through Cashrewards. Worked out to be $20.97 delivered or $4.19 a bottle. If nothing else I will learn if I can rely on Sam Kim in the future (appreciate that 92 isn't stellar but still).

Still not sure how to get the pricing to show that kind of discount, I'm logged on as member, I've tried various combos of botles versus cases and numbers of bottles: for 5 bottles I'm getting $139.95 with a $95.45 discount to come out at $44.50. How do you get it down to those kind of figures quoted above?

Can't help too much, I just went directly via the OPs link. Only thing I can say is discount seems to apply once you add 6 wines.

The discount didn’t apply for me in the cart, but did at the checkout
