Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Could be Robert Stein Reserve Mudgee Shiraz 2013.
Jacob Stein was GT Young Winemaker of the year in 2012.
Wine is 94 points from Halliday and he lists it as $50 & 13.5%.

That looks like a better match, but I thought I saw it as 14.5% on the wine companion site. Must have been looking at the wrong entry :)

Thanks Snoopy and welcome to AFF.
This was also the best I could come up with when I first researched it.

There is similarity in the descriptions;
2012 Reserve Shiraz - JH 93 pointer- The resulting wine displays a strong bouquet of blackberry and earth, with a soft but pronounced tannin structure
2013 Reserve Shiraz - JH 94pts - Full bodied with blackberry and regional earthy notes

I think you are probably right.

Yep - just coupled that with a $50 voucher to get 2013 Wynns Harold down to $47.27ea - I have another $50 voucher I want to burn also but it aint easy

Have $50 & $25 cards from CellarMasters CE, have wandered their site for months, no idea what to pick up in the Shiraz line round $20/25 per bottle, or anything else really.

Had a $100 card from them some months back & let it expire, only yesterday found the AFF CM card thread, would have been very happy to hand the card on!!

Cruiser - perhaps one of the lindeman's Trio? Around $27pb after all discounts. Am trying to decide which one at the moment.

I sympathise with those that struggle to find anything worth buying for CM.

There have been some good reports on the RedWine Bigot's site (well worth joining, BTW) of the quality of the Mount Pleasant High Paddock 2014 Shiraz. It is a for-Woolies-only wine, apparently. I can't find a 3rd party rating, but a few punters thought it was good drinking and there was some speculation that it fitted into the MP range somewhere above the MP Philip Shiraz. I haven't drunk the High Paddock but have had the 2014 Philip, after a good review from Gary Walsh at TWF, and loved it. On the "brighter" and "lighter" of the shiraz spectrum, if that's your thing.

CM's stocks of this wine (and anything else of interest) seem to evaporate whenever they have a site wide discount on. Only to magically reappear once the sale is over.

Anyway, it's on at about $20pb, is a dozen buy, and there was recently a discount offer for a little less than that.

I picked up some of the high paddock from CM for ~$10 over the weekend- looking forward to trying it

IMCAC 2013 Wynns Michael also on CM at ~$89.77 with $50 Voucher and 10.8% Price Pal rebate - $100.32 at Dans with WISH/CR - yes still up there but jeez I trawled and trawled - not much jumps out at you.

On CM? But you can only put in one WISH can you not? My calc included a $50 CM Voucher - so if you don't have a $500 WISH card you are whistling Dixie aren't you?
yeah you would need a $500 wish card and then make up the rest with a cc. 5% off most of it though.

Just a reminder which are the private labels at WW/CM.

Hi Cruiser Elite

My VM broker insisted i buy a case of the 2009 GB Corryton Estate Single Vineyard Barossa Cabernet.

Pretty decent at $60 and great for gifts given the packaging.

I'd buy the 2010 at the same price if available. Where did you buy it from as i'm not sure VM are flogging it yet?

Cheers

Anybody with any experience about this?

I believe Delectable Blue may know a bit? What is it worth?

I bought it from Cracka as replacement for another purchase I sent back. Cracka recommended this wine - I tried one bottle and sent the rest back again - as DB noted he thought it was a $30 wine - I wouldn't rate it that highly - but of course YMMV.
