Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

For anyone that's interested in good quality Margaret River Cabernet.

https://www.crackawines.com.au/product/2012-mystery-96-point-reserve-mr-cabernet

This is the Brookland Valley Reserve Cabernet 2012, an underrated wine from a very good vintage. I just got 6 for approx $200 ($33 a bottle) delivered to Perth by using the voucher code WYZAJOURNEY and Cahsrewards 5.6% back. Eastern states people will get it slightly cheaper.

I was eyeing this off yesterday and, credit to Ozbargain, noticed that I could get the addition $20 off with the voucher code.

Did anyone else get the Cracka text:

Your invited to try mywineguy.com.au with a $50 on $149 spend?

Yes I received this also. Dean, same guy as Cracka Wines. Same same only different.

Anything worth a look?

I have been tied up with work so haven't had a chance to look yet - I just ordered another wine cellar tonight so maybe it's best not to...

I paid just under $37 a bottle delivered through sister company, MWG! Oh well, I'm happy with the extra $21.94 above your $200. It sounds like a great wine.

Note to self - if MWG phone next time - ask them what the Cracka price is with the usual discounts ...! Or check this thread first!

I also picked up the 99 point Ata Rangi Martinborough Pinot Noir 2014. Should be stupendous. Hopefully.

Langton's apparently had a family and friends sale today - anyone receive the email to share and buy or find anything good?

not me - anyone kind enough to post or pm the code and its expiry?

MWG always sells first (with fixed delivery), but Cracka has vouchers/codes (and cashback)

through MWG? Dans has it for $73.20, Boccaccio $71.90, which means after price match and 7% Cashrewards (apparently not currently payable when using gift cards), means $66.87 :)

Thanks Qas! I think

So it looks like I overpaid $21.94 for the Brookland ($3.66 a bott) and $48.72 on the Rangi ($8 a bott) (assuming no delivery fees)!

Oh well. I like Simon and the team at MWG, so that's fine with me.

I am very time poor at the moment. It's usually when I'm time poor that I over pay versus the best price after all the tricks. A small price to pay, in my books, when my time spent on other things is worth more to me.

like [thread=80720]celebrating[/thread]? :)

filtering down on Wine Companion for 97pt Eden Valley Shiraz brings up this guy https://www.yalumba.com/portfolio/wines/steeple-vineyard-shiraz however Light Pass never struck me as 'Eden Valley' (and this may be down to the dodgy tagging/labelling on the Wine Companion site).

If it is this wine though... is anyone willing to share a MWG code for $50 of $149+ orders as mentioned above? :)

I think the they are from St Hallett. The Eden valley is Dawkins and Greenock is Materne.

Have tried the Dawkins 2010 (from WM) which is really good. Used to be rrp $45. A big increase.

definitely gonna agree with the Mattschoss. And also the notion the price has jumped, and not so great value even at $30 a bottle. Shame, really was holping for another single vineyard Yalumba, as I really like their winemaking style.

Yeah I got the text and boomed on this for just over $18 a bottle delivered, only buying true bargains at the moment which this looks like. Had been keen to try this for a while and am surprised this vintage is still available given it's scores especially at this price. It just gets you over the min spend for the voucher too.

I also had the Dawkins 2010 in a mixed case from WM - great wine. I think it's better than old block.

Shame The Den no longer have the 2013.
