Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Just got Stef's email - A++++ will buy again.

Boc could've turn around and say tough luck no splitting of invoices (like Umart) but they've gone well and beyond to help us.

Nicks is offering Zonte's Chocolate Factory for $15 if you enter the code 'ZONTE':

https://www.nicks.com.au/2015-zonte-s-footstep-chocolate-factory-shiraz

I remember some people raved about this wine, for the price point.

Great wine! I have a dozen of every vintage of Chocolate Factory since 2010. Stunner. $15 a bottle is a pretty good price. I usually grab a couple of cases from WD when they have 30% off sales. Comes down to $12.60 with free delivery, i think outside of the 30% off it is $15 a bottle as well. Do Nick's charge freight?

Yes, depending on where you are you can get free shipping if you spend $200+. Otherwise shipping depends on your location.

Ah ok, thanks. I might call my WD broker and see if they will match it to get free shipping on a case, I'll keep you posted!

EDIT: Yep, $15 a bottle. Just grabbed a case for $180 with free delivery. You'd have to call or email to get it for $15 though, listed as $18 on the website

I didn't believe that it was a commercial post and/or breached AFF rules. I saw it as a genuine attempt to engage with AFF and welcomed the post. I'm surprised it was deleted. Clearly I don't understand AFF rules at all.

If you don't get the rules on AFF after nearly 5000 posts then what hope do poor newbies like us have (I'm not disagreeing with you :( btw)

Look, I've had a few of these courtesy of a mixed case from WD and I actually think that the Lake Doctor included in the dozen https://www.winedirect.com.au/2014-zonte-s-footstep-lake-doctor-shiraz was a better wine overall, nothing wrong with the Factory but the Doctor was fuller/richer/bolder to my palate....

Hmmmm now you have me second guessing my purchase..... I've not had the 2014 Lake Doctor but am partially fond of the Langhorne Creek Shiraz. I might try and change my order to get half choc factory and half Lake Doc. I can hopefully get it also for $15 a bottle, i don't see why not?

Remarkable price for the OP & OH - The DM site says this is now unavailable, makes me wonder if it was ever available at this price? Its $50 usually and I'm fairly sure Mount Pleasant haven't had an\y issue shifting the 2014 at RRP.

I was at Mount Pleasant 8 days ago. The OP&OH 14 was selling 4 times faster than any other wine at the cellar door. They say it gets the biggest reaction from the punters because it sits in their premium range and drinks so well so young. It's getting low on stock for those that haven't got some and are keen to try them. I suspect the DM price was an error.

I know they have much more of the Rosehill 14. And arguably it will be the better wine in 5-10 years. At $40, I reckon it will be a sound investment in that drinking window.

14 Hunters in general are worth chasing when you can get your hands on them. OP and OH is the best one i've had in years. And considering Maurice had jumped up to over $200, its practically their flagship of the premium range.

DM has Rosehill '14 for $40 (or perhaps $41) after Cashrewards and discounted WISH cards? Website only shows '13

Costco apparently has them for $40 at the moment according to Winefront comments

I've got a real problem with this, and others have already provided their feedback as well. There have been many questions about being able to take advantage of the boccaccio's amex offer, and the crux of his post was to clear up the confusion which made the deal more accessible to those who had concerns. Look, I get the intent of the rule, as I don't really want to see a bunch of thinly veiled solicitation in the forum either. I could even understand a hardline stance if you chose to delete out the plug about 70% of stock not being listed online. But how is that helpful to the AFF community to delete that post??? Use some judgement and common sense.

I agree.

Except, with respect Vedder50, your last comment. I know the hard working team behind the scenes of this excellent forum do debate the borderline posts collectively so there's a collective judgement made on posts like the one that was deleted. I've had quite a few posts taken down. And there's always a nice PM explaining why from one of the Mods. I think they do a sterling job on here.

But ultimately I agree with your position - it would be of great benefit to the forum members to reinstate the post, maybe without the bits that offend policy (the 70% plug, for instance).

The Mods will be reading these posts, and no doubt they'll be debating the topic for our collective good.

Paid a visit to Boccaccio today and swiped 6 cards.
Fantastic place, good verity and excellent service.
Stefano was not there but his brother, Antonio was available to give me the tour plus some recommendations. As said before not all wines are listed online and some which are listed as 'sold out' were actually still available in low quantities.

Any idea how long they've been there? I'm thinking I used to walk past there on the way to my girlfriend's house in the mid-80s.
