Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Many of the regular brands have been increased in price for the sale.
Teusner Bilmore Shiraz 2014 was around $20 last week (and $18.99 at Winestar still), now listed at $26.

This is listed twice on their site, one @$26 in 12 bottle buys, $20 in 6 bottle buys....just bought a couple of 6 case buys @ $14.75 after CB and Julyxmas

Been watching that, it's been that way for a while with the Bilmore. Question is - is it really a 96 pointer? Anyone here who swears by it?

Not for me it isn't, tried one last week in a tasting flight and found it a little subdued, seemed not as lively as the previous bottle I tried at release.
For not much more (recently $25) I much prefer St Hallett Blackwell Shiraz 2014.
But those who like less obvious fruit and oak and a slightly leaner, structured style the Bilmore may be preferred.
Still not a 96 pt wine though.

Re prices, yes, on more checking most of the high prices on various wines have been there for a while now, not just for the sale.

With WM 20% off and cash rewards, 2012 St Henri is just over $61 a bottle.

Does anyone know what the WM secret Barossa Shiraz 2013 for $30.25 is?

Thanks to this who posted the discount code.

Not surprised given the JH rating last year. Cellar door still have it available but now limited to 3 per customer (was 6 when I ordered).

I picked up a 6-pack of the SV, some pinot and chardonnay on day of release. Two (Grenache noir and another red blend) were sold out within a few hours - I assume these were in small quantities

Does anyone know where it may be possible to get Vickery 2016 Eden Valley Riesling in Sydney? Dan Murphy's seems to have only the Watervale 2015 not the Eden Valley 2016. Thanks.

Just received an email from Vintage Cellars offering 2014 Teusner The Independent Shiraz Mataro - 3 for $60, plus bonus cellar share worth $25 for Cellar Club members. Effectively $11.67 a bottle, compared with $27 from winery! Seems like a great deal. Anyone tried the wine? I've enjoyed Mataro and Shiraz Mataro, but don't recall having this particular one, though I know Teusner is well regarded.

I have tried the Bilmore once. If you generally like Barossa Shiraz and you're looking for something for around $16, I think it would be very hard to be disappointed with it.

If I'd tasted it without seeing the Halliday rating, I'd have expected him to give it 94-96 points. I personally thought it was a cut above the 2011, 2012 or 2013 Riebke. I would buy a pile of it for a couple of dollars less per bottle, but I'm trying not to add too much more of that same style to my collection, so it's probably a mercy that it isn't.

I would take Blackwell over it any day, but I don't think that $25 is "not much more" than $16! Nor was I even able to get the Blackwell when it was $25 (I think that offer wasn't on in QLD) :(.
