Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Re: Dan Murphy's online deal today

The DM mixed pack @ $95 - minus $15 cashback - free delivery - seems a decent option

Not sure on the Burge Abednego actual value tho!

Given it's not on their home page, a URL would help enormously.

Winelist Australia has the Innocent Bystander Syrah for $17.99/btl (or $17.75/doz). I know this one has a lot of fans on here and, from memory, this pricing is even better than the last VM offer.

cheaper than [post=1387653]winestar[/post] :)

note that winelistaustralia is the online store of nillumbik cellars who also own/run wine sellers direct / greythorn cellars which is apparently shonky wine marketing?

I'm not aware of any for Winestar either, but am happy to be corrected.

nor cashback for either :(

In homage to that excellent advice, I penned the following blog on the subject, titled: The Wine that Started it All and Woolworths Wines Many Faces

nice blog :)

It's been a bit quiet on this Dan's & Others thread. And I see VinoMofo are getting some good praise for their mystery mixed packs on the mof_ thread. So it's only fair I sing the praises of the two mystery dozen packs I picked up from Langton's this week.

The magnificent mystery dozen (mix 3 - all reds) pack for $599 contained the following wines:

  1. Mount Mary Quintet 2005 (Langtons – out of stock) (Dan’s – $180)
  2. Peter Lehmann Stonewell Shiraz 2011 (Langtons – out of stock) (Grays – $70)
  3. Balnaves The Tally Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 (Langtons – out of stock) (Dan’s – $100)
  4. Domaine A Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 (pink wrapping) (Langtons – out of stock) (Dan’s – $110)
  5. Chateau Senejac Haut-Medoc Cru Bougeois 2010 (Langtons – out of stock) (Dan’s has the 12 at $56)
  6. Torbreck The Sporran 2013 (Langtons – $45 in stock)
  7. Alexander Dusty Road Pinot Noir 2014 (Langtons – $39 in stock)
  8. Two Hands Lily’s Garden McLaren Vale Shiraz 2010 (Langtons – out of stock) (Dan’s – $45 in stock)
  9. Hardy’s Eileen Hardy Pinot Noir 2015 (Langtons – out of stock. 12 going for $70)
  10. Grant Burge Meshach 2008 (Langtons – out of stock) (Dan’s and myCellars – $149)
  11. Tenuta Sant Antonio Monti Garbi Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore 2013 (Langtons – $79)
  12. Savigny-Les-Beaune Domaine Pavalot Freres 2012 (Langtons – out of stock)

The magnificent mystery value dozen pack for $299 contained the following wines:

  1. Lenton Brae Chardonnay 2011 – $60 (Langtons) (Dan’s – $49.60 in stock)
  2. Howard Park Western Australian Chardonnay 2014 – $54 (Langtons) (Winestar – $40 in stock)
  3. Fiore Nero Chianti 2011 – $20 (Langtons – in stock)
  4. Warrenmang Estate Shiraz 2007 – $85?? (Not sure on this price) (Boccaccio – $45 out of stock)
  5. Voyager Estate Shiraz 2012 – $38 (Langtons – in stock)
  6. Clonakilla Hilltops Shiraz 2013 – $28 (Langtons – in stock)
  7. Shed 6 Pinot Noir 2013 – $22.50 (Langtons – in stock)
  8. Two Hands Brave Faces GSM 2013 – $27 (Langtons – in stock)
  9. Atlas 172• Riesling 2013 – $28 (Langtons – out of stock) (thewineconsultant.com.au has in stock at $59)
  10. MiMi en Provence Grande Reserve Rose 2014 – $30 (Langtons – in stock)
  11. Grant Burge Meshach Shiraz 2002 – $85 (Langtons – in stock)
  12. Domaine Clarendon Syrah 2012 – $35 (Langtons – in stock)

My Internet search skills are pretty average. But even a cursory check of the InterWeb revealed many of these wines were great buys at an average of $50 and $25 a bottle, delivered, respectively. I didn't bother to check the cellar door prices, but was looking for the online discount price that first came to hand.

And for those that might be keen to buy. The $599 all reds pack has sold out. But the $299 value pack is still available here: https://www.langtons.com.au/product...ngton's/magnificent-mystery-value-mixed-dozen

So far, I have tried:

a. the Domaine Clarendon Syrah 2012 (lovely beefy wine with great potential)

http://www.vivino.com/wines/13887637

b. the Grant Burge Meshach 2002 (stunning wine with peaty, burnt earth tones)

Re: Dan Murphy's online deal today

Anyone know of anything worth buying on CellarMasters at the moment? My SO wants to use her voucher, and I am not doing a great job of finding anything much.

Price range and preferences? There are a few gems on cellarmasters if you look hard enough.
