I really enjoyed the KUPE Escarpment Pinot Noir 2013 from Martingborough, New Zealand recently. It's a little bit young, but drinking really, really well. Apparently, hardly any made it to Aus and it scored a 98 and a 99 from well respected Kiwi wine experts, including from James Suckling who said:
"A striking wine thanks to the many complex facets to its personality. This is the zenith of the Escarpment pinot noir collection, a wine that gathers the personalities of its siblings and adds its own layer of class and complexity to the mix. Orange blossom, ripe dark cherries, freshly tilled earth, deep-wound woody spices, dried plums and even some beef stock and a hint of pepper all sit on the nose _ complex and regal. The palate is textured like deep velvet, profoundly flavored and woven together with deep-seated tannins, seamless and long. Every type of cherry, blueberry or plum is layered in soft, fleshy sections, building in layered waves of tannins as this wine goes on and on. The acidity finally creeps up to illuminate the finish. A profound pinot noir. A triumph not only for Escarpment and Larry McKenna, but for New Zealand pinot noir at large. Drink in 2015."

Alternatively, I recently read in the Financial Review Magazine December 2015 edition that the Mount Mary Pinot Noir 2013 ($145 cellar door) is a great pinot. Philip Rich said in his write up on this wine:
"A standout at the Stonier International Pinot Tasting in Melbourne in October, this Yarra Valley wine was served masked against 11 top-flight pinots from around the world. Old vines and relatively minimalist winemaking, in which all the fruit was de-stemmed and only 25 per cent new oak used, results in a wine that is pure, complex, structured and beautifully balanced. I'll put some in the cellar." I haven't tried it, but it sounds pretty good if it won a blind tasting of top pinots.
