There is no 37.5cl format for comtes, so its a pretty safe bet.

Anyone know what wines they are including in the non taittinger pack?
Just a guess, but the Qantas centenary range seems like an ideal choice for them. The pic seems to be a woodlands cab and marc bredif vouvray, pretty certain just stock pics.

On sale, Business Class as-well. I'm not sure if the potential wines which may be included? It says champagne too.

They have alot of wine packs on sale aswell, $200 down from $300+

Just noticed it's already been posted 😂😂😂

Thanks Dr Ralph

Links above are correct
Can you confirm? I wonder if it's worth $50.

I'm getting tired of $150-200 RRP wine selling for $30-50. Just seems a bit off.

The first class wines available for sale on the site are the 2018 Penfolds bin 18A chardonnay, 2010 Balnaves the Tally CS, 2016 Flametree SRS CS, and 2018 Mayer Shiraz. So might be worth a bet at 139$ ???

Flametree is $55 at Gray's, Mayer is $55-60?

Unless you're getting the Penfolds and Balnaves I'm not sure it's worth it.

Taittinger Comtes Champagne worth it for $200? I was getting House of Arras EJ Carr Late Disgorged 2005 for $85, not sure about spending $200 on french.

I've not had the 2007 vintage, but in general yes. For me it is. Having said that, 2007 was a weaker vintage in Champagne. My even bigger concern though is ordering wine from QF wine in the summer months. They simply don't care about how much heat it is exposed to. I'd be temped to order this if it was June. Although my general rule of thumb is if I'm going to be spending money on vintage champagne I'll just stick to the stronger years, but this is priced appropriately IMHO.

It's a very nice wine but you can buy it at that price basically any day of the week.

Btw where are you finding the EJ Carr for $85?

EJ Carr, in SA near me it allows delivery! No store seems to have stock, it's like something under the radar they've never noticed 😂😂😂

Yeah, I haven't seen it before $105 tho! I guess I'll wait.

Unfortunately, I've found most wine sellers are clueless! Clondnine responded to just select don't leave at the door. However, I was home! That doesn't stop it sitting in a van for 9 hours all day boiling hot!

Being delivered tomorrow so I’ll let you know if it was the The Sorby Adam’s Thing Shiraz.
However based on Dr Ralph’s recommended drinking window I will be waiting on this one for a few years so won’t be able to comment on the wine itself and whether it’s worth $50 😁

I agree that big discounting can seem off.
It’s part of the risk I guess and sometimes you get lucky.
I picked up some bottles of Dandelion Red Queen of the Eden Valley that were heavily discounted like this. I really enjoyed them at $50 down from $100 and tasted better again discounted down to $30 😁😁😁

I picked up a few bottles of the Taittinger Comtes from Qantas last year. Ended up being 3 bottles for about 90,000 qantas points after they threw in some bonus points. $199 is pretty good value, 2007 not the best year but still one of the better champagnes around. Haven't tried any of mine yet.

One thing I would point out is that there is a fairly big qantas sticker on the back label which kind of cheapens it a little IMO. Also no wooden box, just the taittinger white wrapping paper.

The inflated RRPs are for export purposes. Prepare to see many more big discounts in the near future as merchants are forced to dump their stock domestically.
My favourite export discounts so far have been a blatantly labeled YEAR OF THE OX shiraz at a decent discount.

Cellardoor offering 6pk of 2018 Chalambar with a bonus Drumborg Pinot Noir for $114.
Seems to be a popular quaffer based on previous comments on this thread, its also been cheaper.
is it worth a look at this price?

it is usually $96 for 6. $18 for the pinot sounds decent. Particularly, if you have any if the vouchers (with $100 min. spend)
