Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

For anyone playing along in NSW, the First Choice in Sylvania had none of the higher end wines on discount. Was passing through that way last night so stopped in hoping for some Art Series...alas walked out with nothing.

I'll add to that list - First Choice Kellyville/Naremburn are a waste of time and North Rocks was cleared out pretty early on.

Sorta regret not stopping by First Choice Goulburn last Friday to see what's there.

Saw a few bottles of 2016 Deep Woods Single Vineyard Cabernet Malbec at my local VC. Ticket $49 -> $10. Anyone tried it?

I picked up 4 of these too. 94 points JH. At $10 can’t complain!
i also picked up Yalumba The Octavius for $59, arras blanc de blanc $40, taittinger Prestige Rose $49, saltram no 1 for $39. All depends on which stores have overstock

thanks Roliversage. Yeah a good rated wine at $10 should be a relatively safe bet.

Some of my others include: Coriole Sangiovese, Downtown Barrel Reserve Pinot, Villa Puccini Toscano, Peter Lehmann Moppa Shiraz, batch X shiraz.

I do need to stop right now.

Hey guys, anyone from Adelaide here? We have slim pickings in terms of bottle-o’s and thought we could help each other out.

I picked up a few gems recently,

Rsw $30
St Hugo Shiraz cab $20
Petaluma merlot $30

I saw two hands lily Shiraz for $30 is that any good?

Yep, I'm from ADL.
Where did you get the booty?

First choice Hindmarsh, went back after doing some research and it looked like it had been pillaged.

Which ones have you checked out?

Damn didn’t pick one up. All sold out now. I’m trying to grow my wine knowledge and was afraid of being conned into the ol mark up and discount approach that some of these bottleshop adopt.

Where would you rank the wine between the ones I picked up?

Below the RSW. Havent tried the others so cant comment on those. The Lily is very good though, we have a few in our cellar. The Bella's Garden is also very good (as is everything from Two Hands).

Couldn’t help but drop into Vintage Cellars this morning and there seems to be a new round of reductions. Bought Ingoldby and DeBortoli Villages for $5 each, Bannockburn for $19, more Zema Cluny for $9. There were at least 10 wines for $3 per bottle.

I think I’ve lurked here long enough, time to return the favour
First choice Collinswood still has a couple bottles of Wolf Blass black label 2016 $60
And a reasonable amount of st Hugo cab shiraz $20, Petaluma merlot 2017 $30 and Petaluma cab merlot 2014 $40

Same thoughts @Gomez
First choice Maroubra was pretty bare last Sunday, so likely to be even more so now.
Vintage cellars Chatswood chase had a fair bit of WB platinum for $84 but that was a bit out of my price range but still has a lot of clearance wines in the $10 - $20 range, but I didn't know many of the wines so just got a couple to test.
