Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Different Drop has 10% off all pinots with code PINOTPARTY until 14/4

I went way over my normal limits but in the end a chance to try Bindi, Yarra Yering & Tolpuddle at very good prices allowed the required internal self-justification. That & padding out the dozen to keep the unit price about $40. No Easter eggs for the home this year.

What was your padding?

In [post=1618453]The Pinot Noir Thread[/post], I mentioned Stoney Rise 2015 ($26.10) and Mount Langi Ghiran Undisgorged Sparkling 2011 ($31.50)

Any current deals/codes for wine direct?
Got a 50/150 offer on my westpac card

20% off with AMEX20 ends 30th April :)

Grange @ $17/bottle by the doz, 1980, Adelaide.
A Pub dinner (The Lion Hotel), yeah we went the Grange
Hill of Grace $4 (limit 2), 1979, Henschke cellar door

I drank far far better as a student than I have ever done, since.

Hopefully though you earn/know/appreciate/live far far better now than back then :)

Just a few current good deals as I don't have time to post them all (pm me for the rest/codes):

Cellarmasters

- Teusner Avatar Barossa Valley Grenache Mataro Shiraz 2013 $22.50

Now gone up to $29 :(

The Black Label Cab I grabbed yesterday was '13, I didn't end up making to TC tonight to try for the BL Shiraz

I guess Wynns are solid enough not to make rubbish wines in even a lesser vintage, I probably/definitely don't need more wine at the moment but....

Let us know how you go.

I have picked up some good single/double bottle buys from TC via their Hump Club offers, and these get even better when they can be stacked with an Amex statement credit such as shop small

Anybody got any idea what is in the langtons mystery $299 case?

They list some of the contents;

Regardless of your luck in the draw, your purchase of this Mystery Selection will guarantee you twelve wines of outstanding pedigree, including Shaw + Smith M3 Chardonnay, Fraser Gallop Parterre Cabernet Sauvignon, Tyrrell’s Stevens Vineyard Semillon andOakridge Over the Shoulder Yarra Valley Pinot Noir alongside a suite of similarly outstanding offerings.

But not really relevant as it is already sold out

I only received the email about this 30 minutes ago and its already gone! Quicker than the other two mystery selections the other day!

I got an email from my broker yesterday telling me about it, and advising to pre order if I was interested as it was in short supply. They expected it to sell out in under an hour - if lots jumped in via brokers yesterday, that would have reduced todays availability even further

Not surprising - lower price, fewer cases (250 vs. 150) and FOMO for all those that missed out on the $599 cases :)
Did anyone jump on the $599 mixed cases? Tempting, but a lot to gamble on unknown varieties, regions, vintages etc...
Good luck with the prize draw for anyone who rolled the dice! ;)

I was very tempted but decided against.
The timing wasn't ideal for me with 2 wines being released now that I want (MW Cab and C DM)

Do I have to be Hump Cub member to qualify Steady?

I normally get 1 or 2 each year. I think I've posted previous years' contents in this thread before. Usually decent value (~40% off RRP) and you get a few things you'd normally not buy. Edit: I got the Giaconda Aeolio Roussane in last year's case, as well as a Rivetto Barolo in a previous year - neither of which (at the time) I would have considered buying. The Barolo, in particular, has sparked a keen interest in Piedmont for me (Nebbiolo, but also Barbera)

This year seems to be better value, because the bonuses are on top of the case contents, whereas in previous years, you got a 1 in 10 chance of a bottle of Grange mixed into your case.

Unfortunately missed out this year on the $599 cases, but grabbed one of the $299s instead.
