Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

With Winemarket sold out of 389

Best I can see at the moment is DM @ $69 p/b in a six less the 13% though CR

Has anyone come across the 389 any better ?

Not currently but only 2 months ago DM have flash sales for $54pb for 2013 vintage.
Just wait and be very very patient ;)

That is the very issue

EDIT.. The obvious internal thought process is... do I accept the DM price less the +/- 13% now or wait and hope it is cheaper.

I often think, does it always have to be the lowest price or is $5 per bottle above the lowest price acceptable..

It's not like LAST stocks. Only just release a few days ago. What's the rush?
Any time the 13% is available at DM :D

Anybody who tries to tell you they always secure the 'lowest' price is nothing short of a flog - I agree with you - a buck or two or 3 either way neither here nor there - important think is that YOU are happy with what you paid.
just looking for a bit of a deal on the 389 because i love the stuff
Me 3 - but drinking a $51 389 will just yield a tad warmer fuzzier feeling inside than a $58 389 does for simply waiting an extra few weeks.

And also be prepared that sometimes you miss the deal - cough happens.

After previous report(s) on the DM LANGHORNE CREEK Shiraz 2014, cleanskin, opened 2nd taster recently, this wine will NOT last 24hrs at ambient temp after opening (50/60% left in bottle), OK at the price by a smoky fire in the bush, but a touchy wine when it has that predisposition to oxidising.

Wouldn't buy it again.

The DM Wine Panels 95 points, yep, just a joke !

All CM Veuve orders delivered or awaiting collection local BWS store - I am still staggered to secure 2 doz Veuve sub $30ea - just further evidence patience many times is rewarded.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Just a quick thanks to all the posters for all the heads up with recent bargains on Cellarmasters etc., as well as sharing their thoughts very quickly on the pros and cons of the various Mavericks options. Very much enjoyed my first bottle of the 2 doz 2013 Mavericks GSM the other night.

If anyone gets an earful when they bring home their bargain stock Veuve and needs to offload half a dozen, I'm more than happy to help!

Welcome aboard michaelm.

Welcome to AFF michaelm. Mrs prozac asks why "do you keep buying all this wine?". If you gotta explain they will never get it.

Tell her it keeps evaporating with all this hot weather we have been having...

I was telling my wife about the Cellarmasters bonanza and how I'm struggling to keep our cellar below 400 bottles (I thought it was a good idea to set myself a number to stop at)

She declared that 500 was a much more sensible figure, so it seems my box collection will be expanding soon!

On the sparkling note... any ideas of where to pick up a good price for the 2006 vintage Moet? Looking for a special bottle to take away for a NY road trip and people seem pretty hot on that option.

First Choice and Dan Murphy have this at $76/$75.95 single bottle currently, also $69.99 in 6-packs at Jim's Cellars (as listed by wine-searcher.com)
