Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

So if it was Thorn Clarke Ron Thorn, they over quoted the RRP. Plus it’s hardly a “global powerhouse” brand…
Totally innocent TWC typo I'm sure... meant to say: "...built with a global powerhouse brand (Penfolds) in mind? That would be a suitably empty and difficult to challenge marketing claim.

Still looks like TWC had a not terrible price for a wine that people really like at $90ish according to Vivino.

Accolade Wines has sold its Petaluma Winery in the Adelaide Hills to McLaren Vale-based bottling company Torresan Estate for almost $5 million, joining a rising number of sales among boutique vineyards.

Accolade, owned by US private equity firm The Carlyle Group, put Petaluma and its historic Krondorf winery and cellar door in the Barossa Valley up for sale in January. The company decided to shift the production of wines, including premium brands like Grant Burge and Rolf Binder, to its Hardys Tintara winery in McLaren Vale and its St Hallett facility at Tanunda in the Barossa.

I had no idea it was owned by a US firm, but now I believe locally owned.

I think they are just selling the physical wineries, not the brands. All the Australian brands owned by Accolade are listed on their Cellarone site: Customer Login

Had this today and shared with 3 others.
I hope many got on this deal because the fizzy stuff is magnificent. Elegant, full of finesse and a bargain at the price. I haven't yet looked for top up but it's a wine of the year contender.
You pipped me at the post BF in terms of tasting impressions of the Remarkable State bubbly Shiraz, certainly an elegant drop, drier and more savoury than most, no cloying sweetness here, only negative is that it is far too easy to glug out a bottle and immediately go searching for more :).

I didn't think the Remarkable will be good, as it usually sell at $5 for the red in Liquorland.

I have tried 4 Sparkling Shirazes under $20 per bottle. In addition to Remarkable Sparkling I have had the following

1. https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_MYSTERY595/under-wraps-mclaren-vale-sparkling-shiraz-nv which is https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_123510/monterra-elevage-mclaren-vale-sparkling-shiraz-nv

2. https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_903913/bleasdale-sparkling-shiraz

3. Dorrien Estate Cuvee Shiraz NV that I picked up from Cellarmasters earlier this year for $10 or so - sometimes it is available for sale

I would rate Bleasdale Sparkling Shiraz as the overall winner by quality - with Remarkable Sparkling coming equal second with Monterra offering the best bang for your buck IMHO.

I think for $10 it's a solid buy, even the Bleasdale is over double the price.

These are the bonus bottles I'm being offered every time I add something to my cart (each time has been over $100 - didnt dig down into the criteria even adding something at $50 it offers another bonus) so I could get multiple bonuses.

Drumborg Chard at $20 is not bad

There are some ok discounts on US wines and some that were not available in single bottles are now like Stags Leap Napa Cab. The invite option has also re-appeared
