I have a mate who is thinking of changing from QF FF to CX Marco Polo.
His QF membership year starts 1 Sept so he will still be SG for 10.5 months. He spends alot of time in Asia/HKG and rarely flies AUS domestic. Even as a QF SG, he has been given alot (maybe 20-40%, usually on short haul) of op-ups when traveling CX Y, so he thinks as a CX Gold (or whatever SG equivelent) he will get even better treatment, and also might be able to use points for upgades. He has alot of QF points which he struggles to use and doesn't feel he gets any love from QF even as QG.
My question is what is the downside of CX Marco Polo/Asia Miles? (assuming if he starts posting to CX now and gets CX gold equivelent before his QF SG runs out)
