Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

May I ask is there going to be any special gifts from First Lounge as we are approaching peak Christmas travel season? I remembered last year there was special PJs available?
I am leaving in a few days and wanted to see if I can score some special gift.
Please report back!
  • As Christmas approaches, Qantas will serve traditional Christmas dishes across selected domestic and international lounges and inflight. Customers can look forward to even more Christmas surprises when travelling, with airport activations and onboard surprises to be unveiled.

Mango daiquiri is one of the “special” summer coughtails.

And a selection of other items from the Summer menu that I don’t think I’ve seen posted yet.

The barramundi was the best of the dishes I sampled by a long shot.

The lamb was okay and if I was having it again would add a side of chips. The chickpeas didn’t really go IMHO.

Finished with the chocolate mousse.

Seeing this on the menu gave me flash backs to the 80’s when chocolate mousse was all the rage.

I was hoping for a big dollop of chocolate mousse, a drop of whipped cream and some shaved Old Gold on top. Vintage 80’s!

Instead I was served this:

You might just be able to spot the mousse - which was clearly being rationed - hiding under the cream and cherries.

In fairness to the crew in the kitchen it’s a nice dessert.

It’s well presented and if you’d like a cake base with a hint of chocolate mousse, cherries and cream, then this is the dessert for you.

But if you’d want proper chocolate mousse - where the chocolate mousse makes up the vast majority of the dessert - you’ll be disappointed.

And a bonus pic from the summer wines for the mod who is a massive Torbreck fan. 😉
