Current lifetime Status credits

Hi,

I am a "newbie" here, and I reckon I always will be.

I joined QFF in Dec 2000, and have a Current lifetime Status credits of 5,174.

Any idea how it is possible that I incurred the 4 Status Credits?

Am I right to assume that my SC should end in a "0" or "5"?

In 2001 (iirc) the SC earnings changed; prior to this it was possible to get 8 SCs for a SYD-MEL for example , so for anyone who was a member at that time could easily have lifetime earnings with an ending number other than 0 or 5

Thanks Dave, I neglected to mention that I was based in Asia for 2000 until late 2002, I only started flying domestically this year.???

When Tier Credits were introduced from 1st September 1998, 8 TC's were awarded for "Discount Economy" travel:

• Within and Between Australia, South Pacific and New Guinea - up to 1,000 kms.
• Within and between Asia, Africa, India & Middle East.
• Within and between UAS, Canada and Latin America.
• Within and between Europe & United Kingdom.

When the name was changed to Status credits, one's Tier Credits were 'converted' to Status Credits on a 1 for 1 basis.

A similar thing happened with "5"'s. When Status Credits were introduced, there was no way one could earn SC's other than as a multiple of 10 and I had this odd '5' count in my lifetime SC's for years.

With the May 24th Changes, mutiples of 5 were re-introduced (eg. Disc Y MEL-BNE) so 5's no longer appear so 'strange'.

Not sure but under the old scale ,prior to May 25, less than 1,000 miles was Zone 1, the bottom of the SC's tree eg SYD-MEL, SYD-BNE etc.

I know you did many trips CGK-SIN (547 miles) and SIN-BKK (897 miles) and you would have paid economy, even if your company paid short haul policy is economy anyway, therefore 8 SC's one way. Even in business would have been some multiple of 8.

That would certainly explain why your lifetime SC's total ends in 4.

I'm on 5,370 and by the end of my "year" on 31st October this will increase to over 7,100 on current bookings alone. 8)

I joined QFF in Feb 1989. You can tell how many I have from my signature and use of a calculator. By end of January, that should have grown to around the majical Lifetime Silver level.

Mine used to end with a 9. I was dreading being stranded on 13999 and missing the big one. But in the end I flew past that milestone. And now I have no idea how many lifetime status credits I have. My FF summary no longer lists it.

It will be interesting to see what Qantas does in the future. I suspect that in a few years there will be a lot of Lifetime Golds. It then becomes a question for Qantas of how to continue to reward/retain these customers.

Pretty simple answer to the question. Not sure of the benefits involved.

Lifetime WP at 21,000 or 28,000 points. New goals, new targets.

That was my concern. I was very glad to see 14,000 fly by mid-trip.

My tally is 7,483 so I am already lifetime silver and at current rate of earning SCs will make lifetime gold in about another 5 yrs!

It would have done if I had kept track from when I knew what the tally was. But alas I no longer know (or care really).

The important thing now is to earn enough QFF SCs to requalify Plat each year, and then think about a more beneficial earning program where the earn and burn rates are better :wink: . Now that could prove to be a challenge?

I have a baby here . She has not yet become addicted to candy. But try getting a fruit stick out of her hand and I can think of a challenge that is easier to complete .
