There is no way AJ will do this. When this is over QF will be BOOMING again, especially considering that VA are likely to collapse. The only way VA will get through this is with govt help, which is likely as QF would have a monopoly in the dom market which would allow QF to do as they please. That being said as we saw with the Flybuys/Coles SC earn ability, QF reacted with the 50 SC/8000 FF Loyalty bonus. VA would have to jump first with a status hold/extension, as QF only do these things if they absolutely have to.

What about my FF staus credits. I fly NZ-OZ regularly, now I can't. Will QF give me status hold? I could fly to OZ, take an apartment, do the 14 days, then set off around the country on business for say another month, then back to NZ and another 14 days. Perfectly feasible businesswise but what about family in NZ?

I'm sure I posted this on a different thread. Well done to the Admin. At lst I found this thread amongst so many on Covid 19

I'm watching my inbox light up with all the AFF comments, but must get some work done.

Not sure if anyone has seen it but the status points in the QFF app appears to have a shadow that grows as you earn more status credits. it looks like it's half of what you are currently on.

I'm assuming this is how Qantas is going to compensate you. Whatever you have earned for the year x 1.5 would be your requalify amount.

Interesting I don't have that - but would be nowhere near enough for me or anyone at my work either.

I dont have that as well. I've started flying qantas since december and have 30 June as the anniversary year. Really want to get to platinum and have already gotten to 720 status credits now in the last 3 months. Have booked a few DSC trips and have more weekly travel already booked but am scared that a point in time will come where travel is banned. Would have thought having spent so much money over the last few months, they would at least give some grace in the anniversary period or do something to compensate.

Isn't it also FAR to early for QF and VA to be talking about this? They have no idea how long this will go on.

Hopefully if we follow the China route only a few months....

It's strange as I've had this for a while now and never really thought about it, so they must have planned something before covid 19 exploded or more so the govt reactions.

I even have my points club level in the app too next to my status.

Just for clarification I do use an iOS device and qantas app version 3.53 build 229. Also not on testflight for the ios people.

Maybe not for those whose year ends in a couple of weeks 😉

What if you logged in online? Does it show up then? i tried logging in online and also used my android phone. Both dont have anything.

Nope only shows in the app, nothing on the website.

just got a new phone a week ago, Android 10, and dowloaded the QF app. Its permanently logged in and no shading on status. Anniversary is end November and going for Platinum. Usually make it a month or two ahead but in these uncertain times a status pause woul be welcome as all QF flying has ceased.

I've got the shading - although on mine looks less than 50%.

No way I will make Platinum renewal (end of March - after 5 years of WP) - so will get an early datapoint on QFs response to loyalty.

No shading when logged in on PC, but then November is a long way away. I've asked QF about status pause through customer services but no reply yet.

I reckon QF will end up offering their elite members the opportunity to buy their retention of status using their points. Great way to encourage ongoing loyalty and reducing liability with the points by getting people to burn them.
