Countdown to a beach Luxury Escape to the Cape via Katong and Karon

I'm happy to use GM Roxy for overnight stays. It more than does the job and as you said pricing is decent.
For longer stays as an Accor Plat, I find I get good value at Sofitel Singapore City Centre.
Free breakfast, lounge privileges in the arvo and then I head over to the Maxwell Hawker market for a cheap feed :p
Both our stays were very late check-ins @craven morehead
This one, 10.15 pm and the other, on the stroke of midnight.
Had left our options open with a flexible booking for our mid August return visit but as we were guaranteed a late 6pm check-out , we were happy to return.

We have a busy day planned for Saturday, booked our massages at Talay Spa

Next morning we check out the newly opened 7/11 directly across the road. Security assist in stopping the barely -there traffic with his red flag

Stock up on a snack that the gkids like called Beng-Beng

Take over some laundry, one less thing to do when we get home.

Early afternoon we tootle off to Talay Spa

We have decided to pay 500 THB each to upgrade from the complimentary 30 minute LE massage to one hour - well worth it.

Greeted with Hibiscus Tea and an array of oils to choose from

Very relaxing, followed by the fits of laughter as Mr Flyfrequently discovers what he thought was his masseur just running her fingers through his hair

After our very relaxing spa, Saturday evening was the Seafood Buffet night which we discovered was also included with LE.
Again, plenty of fruit, breads, salads, mini desserts and many seafood dishes.
I enjoyed the Steamed Snapper

Our time is coming to an end with Sunday our last full day and happy to enjoy it poolside.
I didn't bother with heading to the Sunday night market, after all, I had found my magnet and frock on Thursday!

In the afternoon, the pool staff have face painting, games for the children and a foam party.

For the adults, it's a very loud DJ.
Fortunately we were able to get our sun beds far away from the doof doof.

The hotel occupancy had increased due to European/ME holidays.
Early dinner of Garlic Prawns

 and Pad Thai

Our thoughts now turn to packing.
We have been given a 4pm late check-out prior to our SQ flight to Singapore the next evening.
Footnote: His footy team won!

Early breakfast in Aqua, mural near the entrance

We have really enjoyed our stay and admit I could be an LE convert.
Apart from the considerable savings on food and drinks, it is nice not to have to fuss about settling the account!
Only spend we had was on our last day prior to checking out, I was feeling peckish and Spring Rolls by the pool seemed in order.

Booked our Grab, allowed plenty of time to get to the airport.
Homage to Thai royalty along the way

In fact we were too early for Check-in!

Once checked in, oversize and formalities done, we had the option of either the Thai Orchid Lounge or Coral Executive Lounge. Ground staff suggested Thai Orchid was better, quick google search, needless to say we choose the Coral.

It is compact and did get crowded as it is also a paid Lounge.
I found a friend at the bar, you keep your glass and take it back if you want a refill - one was enough

All I will say is the food was way better than the beverage .....
Plenty of choice for a small lounge Screenshot_20260820_101447_Gallery.jpg
I enjoyed a really tasty Lemon Pepper chicken.Screenshot_20260820_103421_Gallery.jpg

Time to board - the bus 🙄Screenshot_20260820_101554_Gallery.jpg
On board our 8.10 pm flight with excellent service for a ~90 minute flight, both enjoyed a delicious dinner.

Disembark quickly, through Passport control, collect bags and head to the Red Channel to declare my meds with permit.
Entry to Singapore 2/52 earlier and my experience then was (from post # 20)

"Head to the Red Channel with my medications in my handbag for easy access.
Advise officer that I have a permit for my meds as I go to reach into my handbag
Not necessary he says.
Asks how long are we in Singapore - 2 days and back for another day in 2 weeks.
How many tablets? - 20 I say.
Ok, off you go - don't you want to see the permit?
No, not really!"

Ok this time, again advise officer of permit, he waves us through.
So I asked him why doesn't anyone want to see the permit ?
He says, no need to go through Red Channel, only need to show the permit if you get stopped.
So there you have it @RooFlyer @Seat0B !!

Now 11.30 pm and Changi is quite busy and this was reflected with Grab, twice the price ~SGD 51, also according to our driver many don't do the overnight jobs.

Made it to Grand Mercure Roxy right on midnight, we now have less than 24 hours until we depart for home.

Time to wrap this TR up (been home 10 days now!)
GM Roxy looked after us well

Again upgraded to higher executive floor and appreciated the 6pm check out.
Gave ourselves a lazy day watching the world go by

Touched base with the Flyfrequently offspring and repacked our bags.

Ambled down to the Breez Bar for our "Welcome/Farewell" drink - it had to be a Singapore Sling!

?Travel Mistake?
I had forgotten about 4 hour check-in (we were too late for Jewel check-in) and had also forgotten about SATS Premier check-in 🤦‍♀️
Thanks to AFF'ers who alerted me to this!

And off we go, Homeward Bound.

For once Mr Flyfrequently slept for 4 hours - always handy when we have another 100 minutes to go upon landing.

Thanks for coming along.

Like most places it depends where you stay but can honestly say
