Excellent news Lindsay, congrats to you both. Charlotte is a beautifull name. Wishing the three of you all the best into the future, and happy travels.

Well done Lindsay & family! Send us a PM if you get down to the Coast and I'll throw on some sushi, sake & solids (byo milk ;) ).

Lindsay, I would like to add my congratulations to you on the arrival of your daughter. I have one daughter and she has been a joy and challenge for her near 20 years on this earth. You will now really undestand the meaning of the term 'long haul'

Best wishes to you all.

Another day of looking after mum & bub is over. Hopefully we'll get to bring Charlotte home tomorrow (based on paediatrician's OK) with Vicky. First "real" milk came through tonight and she is now feeding well. Now the waiting on them hand and foot will really start (as will my sleepless nights  ).

For those interested in the min-LW details:

Name: Charlotte Louise
Born: 6.20pm Tuesday 6 March (kpc's birthday, as well as my grandmothers')
Weight: a petite 2,350 grams (or 5 pounds 3 ounces in the old scales)
Height: 48 cms

Congratulations Lindsay! I hope Charlotte gives you and Vicki years of happiness.

Steve

Alas, we were booked into the Crowne Plaza Royal Pines this weekend (thinking that we still had 3 weeks left before birth), except of course we had to cancel when Charlotte came early.

Throw on okonomiyake and I'm there....

Congrats on your new little frequent crier...............I mean flier! :D Charlotte is a lovely name!

Don't you just love routine. We have her in one and it's working (famous last words). Actually, she's not much of a crier at all, something I'm sure she'll shed in time (just wait when I tell her she can't be the youngest AA Platinum Challenger :D)

Paternity leave is over next week and I'm going to miss the routine here at home, as I'm sure my wife and Charlote will miss me being around the house helping with all the domestic chores.

First photo

Sorry for the delay, but this is the only photo I have on my computer at present - Vicky has been a little busy to download and email the photo's from her digital camera. It was taken when she was ~24 hours old

Yep. Definitely a baby :!:

p.s. Did you get my email Lindsay :?:

Ah, no I haven't got an email from you...but if I remember correctly, my email address that is linked here hasn't been looked at for around 5 months, so I thought it would have bounced....

Sorry Lindsay.

I sent it to the address linked to FT. I'll dig it out if possible and send again this evening.

For me, it's hard to believe that I've been away from AFF (and FT) since early June due to work commitments. Was a bit shocked to see that it was a month  . Still, I needed the time to deal with clients and their pre 30 June financial planning needs (read superannuation contribution strategies). 3 all-nighters during that time and barely sufficient sleep for most of the other nights (but can't complain about the earnings ;) )

Charlotte is now 17 weeks old and over 5kgs in weight. She is now beginning to sleep through the night (has been for about a week) and is "chatting" away to anybody within earshot. Loves watching TV when we allow her and hates "tummy time". Has made her inaugural flights BNE/MEL/BNE in late May and was an angel on-board both times, not even a single cry (well, it's hard when you've a mouthful of breast or you're asleep).

I hope to catch up on what has been happening on the Forum during my month away, but it'll take some time to catch up.

Lindsay, the joys of travelling with babies. We have done about 6 domestic sectors now with 14 month old Ava. She too is generally well behaved, particularly when there are other children around to act as a distraction (and the odd op-up to J helps as well). Not sure we are ready to tackle a long haul flight with her just yet though.

VERY belated

Congrats - I don't read AFF as often as I do other fora, and just noticed this thread.

Dave
