Hello,
Can anyone tell me how i can communicate with Air China about our flights from Australia?
I haven't had much luck using their call centre...
Has anyone else had problems?

What about your travel agent who booked tickets. They can usually get through to the GSA in Sydney for overseas airlines.

Did you buy the tix direct from Air China? Online?

MelUser and Cruiser Elite, thanks for your suggestions:
I bought them through a travel agent, who told me to check my online itinerary. They also directed me to the Air China call centre, who were really difficult to communicate with.

Get your TA to do this.... they've pocketed the commission and after all, they are the ones imploring us to book through them rather than via a computer, usually with the promise of "we're here to help when there is an issue......."

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

That is TA work which they are being paid for in service fee and which they get (some) commission for, and dealing with Air China... good luck!

What is it that you want to know about your flights?

got to love all the replies about travel agents when the OP hasn't even mentioned what it is they want to know.

True, but also got to love a travel agent that tells people to lookup their own itinerary on checkmytrip!

I want a confirmation from the airline that the time on my itinerary is correct, i've had a problem before where the online itinerary had an error and i missed a flight

Markis 10:
Apparently this is common practice, have you never had a travel agent tell you to do that?

I have never heard of it before, regardless you should get an eticket from the airline with all the details, and they should also be on the receipt/itin from the agent

As for timings, they are online (2305 would be 1105 at night BTW, so its an AM flight):

11:05 Melbourne (MEL)
22:35 Beijing (PEK)
Air China (CA178)

  • 14:30
  • 1 stop(s)
  • e

  • flight details

Many travel agents advise clients they can view their itinerary online at checkmytrip.com or virtuallythere.com or other such site, it's quite normal practice and that is the reason why these sites exist. The GDS promotes them as such.

However, it is still the travel agents job to notify the client of a schedule change. The PNR will show any schedule changes by the airline and the old times and new times.

There is something very strange going on here as others have noted checkmytrip simply looks at the PNR and current schedule directly from Amadeus... so there is no reason why the flight time would be wrong. Someone has made an error somewhere along the way, are we looking at a case of am/pm here?

Yep , going from another thread post!

There was a 12 hour difference
