As you booked it through QF did you try the OLCI from there?

Negative. I've never done OLCI for a QF flight in my life but perhaps that would have fixed it.

Interesting, though, my QF FF account is still showing JQ35 as departing at 1400, not the revised 1450 or thereabouts. Maybe that's part of the issue too.

Checking in at PER now. Not going well in terms of getting my JQ boarding pass (I'm flying to SYD on QF and have booked the JQ flight on the one PNR). I swipped my Platinum card at the post then approached a QF agent enquiring about my JQ pass. He didnt think I could but checked with another agent to confirm. Simimilar response. He took me to a QF agent doing JQ check-in who said she'd try. she spoke to another QF agent doing JQ check-in who flatly said "I wouldn't get involved" so the first lady referred me to the JQ service desk. It's here I wait.

I didn't expect the JQ boarding pass this way but thought I'd try anyway.

Gotta love (not) the attitude of the 'helpful' CSA who said "I wouldn't get involved"! Seriously if they do JQ checkin, then they're already signed into the JQ checkin systerm so obviously have system accesstWhy not

Me thinks that may be the problem. The post/podium/QCR (q card reader) isn't very helpful when it comes to exit rows so I don't know what's going to happen if you checkin when there a JQ flight with an "international connection" in the pnr. Similarly, not sure if you can use a Next Gen Kiosk at the airport or mobile checkin.

Hmm I had both on the 1 PNR and I could check in an get BP's for both.. I was just going to get a reprint in MEL tomorrow morning.. I reckon I'm going to be as tired as you as I've only just left the tennis now, and still have to get home, shower, snooze and get up and head to MEL!!

Inconsistency. Hard to believe!
Well, things have got worse.

The JQ service desk at PER was unable to help so I'm in the lounge and tried checking-in on the JQ website. Epic fail: "Web Check-in is not available for your booking. Please proceed to a Jetstar Check-in Desk at the airport.

Contigency plan is as follows:
  1. Try the QF T3 international transfer desk.
  2. Try the QF T3 J lounge.
  3. Try the QF T2 lounge.
  4. Try the QF T1 First lounge check-in.
  5. Try the JQ T1 check-in desk for any flight.
  6. Try the JQ T1 service desk.
  7. Spend $8 a pop on lattes at T1 Starbucks and fume away ~ four hours as a very, very unhappy man!

I don't think QF OLCI will work if you're already checked in as you'd have to select that option from the beginning. I know that if you've already done OLCI you can't go back & attempt OLCI again (eg if you forgot your boarding pass & want to reprint) as it will say something like "you've already checkin in plesse see a Customer Service agent at the airport).

It sounds like OLCI is the best way to go when you have a QF flight followed by JQ35 in the same pnr as it would seem you cannot OLCI on JQ website if JQ35 was booked in same pnr as QF flight immediately before JQ35.

If JQ booked on its own via JQ website, attempt the OLCI & you will get the "this is not a boarding pass" thing however still be checked in but you will need to get a reprint from JQ somewhere in order to get through customs.

I'll share my experience from last October with a single PNR including JQ35. OLCI didn't want to know about JQ35. Checked in at the "premium" desk at ADL, did not mention JQ35, out popped two BP.

It should be possible to run through OLCI again from Manage My Booking if only to see what happens.

What's this 'revised' departure time?

All my resources indicate 14:00.

My attempt to get a reprint in the ADL QC failed. They couldn't do a reprint for a SYD departure. I probably didn't help the situation by not flashing WP card, although that lounge dragon has seen me many time, and by not stressing I'd checked in. Good to have a practice, through.

Just filled up on pancakes (or are they pikelets :p) in the J lounge. QF501 should be taxiing out by now, but as I look out the window it's still at the gate! Either way, some very happy people onboard with JQ35 boarding passes, ready for the adventure that lies ahead of them.

I'm going to head home soon, hopefully beating any traffic as I do so.

I expect lots of photos!

Edit: Pushed back at 5:02.

I hate you all !!!

Oh hang on.... That's right, I'm joining you this time!!

Winning :)

I've just landed.

I thought JQ revised the departure but maybe 1400 is the revised. I know the time did change.

It was 1400 when I booked. It used to be 1500. Maybe that was the change.

BTW am I allowed to whinge about the guy who blagged his way into 3A and B from 30E?

Ok so JQ service desk in CNS said no, "you have to present at the desk in the port of departure", "you need a D sticker", "...etc etc".

Went upstairs to the QP.... "Of course Mr Dfcatch, you already know I can't check you in, but I can reprint if you already have:)"

So I now have a BP - BUT it's a shopper-docket type (like DJ).

Is that satisfactory or do I need a reprint in SYD??

Is it enough to get airside at least??

One and two have both failed. Proceeding to option three.

Just missed the skybus by literally seconds. Will be on the 7am skybus

For some reason the driver came got me before he pulled into the loading bay so I could have the front seat because I looked 'flustered'.

I was just trying to figure out whether I could get and scull a coffee before next bus

Edit: driver now flirting with me. What an odd start to the day
