It was actually 2,000 points on $100 Mastercard gift cards. I only mention that because the purchase fee on the Mastercards is just $5.00 whereas with the Visas it's $5.95 so not only have they halved the bonus points, they're charging us more as well!

I have seen some people value their FF points at 2 or 3 or 4c each.

Exactly. Let's not forget that they have unsuccessfully tried this before: in March and April last year they reduced the bonus on $100 Mastercard gift cards to 1,000 and 1,500 points, respectively, before returning to 2,000 or more for all subsequent offers in 2024.

In the last few years Coles have run over 70 much better promotions (e.g. 10% off, 2,000 points etc) on Visa/Mastercard gift cards so somehow I doubt that this is suddenly the best that they can do.

Are these as Deft friendly as the Mastercards?

Apparently it hasn't been possible since October 2024.
