The price premium that coke charges over Pepsi is possibly part of the problem as well....

Yes - less people prepared to pay extra for the Coke brand - once a hallmark cool brand has now lost its lustre : its all about beauty, cosmetics and tech brands nowadays.

Yes, I agree. I like the taste of Coke better than the taste of Pepsi however I purchase more cans of Pepsi, than Coke based on the pricing issue. On a good day I can get 24 cans of Pespsi for $9 or $10 but the lowest 24 pack of Coke I have seen for a long time is $13. It rarely even gets to this price. I have Coke at McDonalds and for birthday parties when I can get the 2 litre bottles of Coke for $2 or just over. The convenience price of Coke and Pepsi is about the same so on the rare times I am out and about and prepared to pay the convenience food price I will drink Coke.

I'll probably try the new Coke No Sugar. I tried Coke Zero but after awhile it didn't taste very good. If there is an aftertaste in the Coke No Sugar I won't be drinking much of it. I heard that they are using aspartane which is the same sweetener they used for Diet Coke. I stopped drinking that due to the aftertaste.

Totally OT but shouldn't all of this be in the "Playground" ?
It's hardly an open discussion about anything travel related.

Ahh, but some of us had an extended campaign to get Qantas to change from Diet Coke to Coke Zero, back in the day. Everything to do with the onboard experience.

:)

I am drinking my first bottle of No Sugar Coke as I type this. I just noticed it in the supermarket here in NZ today for the first time. As somebody who used to drink a lot of Coke Zero, I can definitely say it is nothing like that and I would have said it was full fat normal coke if nobody had told me before (something I don't think I would ever say about Zero or Diet).

Wonder if they resurveyed the same people if they understood cherry and Vanilla Coke

Well isn't the variation the reason why they are different? They use different sweeteners. And so taste different.

I avoid coke when in the Sth Pacific tropics. It never tastes right.

I don't drink soft drinks when I am in the US as I can't stand the corn syrup in them.

Best coke is Mexican! Can pick it up at Harris Farm markets (or could). It's made with cane sugar.
