I finally received my points after calling close to a month ago. :mrgreen:

I am quite happy about not having to chase them up.
 
I received the bulk of the outstanding points this week. But not the full amount. Had a phone call from the customer executive services person who explained that he'd been having massive problems with marketing getting them to acknowledge the outstanding transactions in their records. He decided to give an ex-gratia points credit to cover the short fall as that was less hassle and would close the case. I'm happy with that. But would suggest that anyone still waiting should push a bit as it sounds like marketing is being difficult.
 
I made yet another call today to chase these points up. I am really confounded by how grossly incompetent Amex are at managing these promos. I won't be giving up though :p
 
I've been using the email system to chase this stuff up. Much easier.
Sounds like a good idea as I have just about have had enough of wasting time on the phone only to be told that they need to extract the points from D!ck Smith and it is not Amex's responsibility that I have not received my points.

Am I the only one being fed that line?

I can't say I heard that line. Just that they would follow it up etc

Go the email route, this was much more successful for me. Plus who has the time to sit on the phone to Amex??
 
I have had no luck what so ever trying to handle this through email. I have emailed twice and have received the most inane responses that I can only conclude that those dealing with the email queries have a sub optimal IQ. Yes, I know I had 300 bonus points posted 2 months ago.... but I'm waiting on a heck of a lot more points than that! :evil: And that brilliant answer came after 3 days of investigation!
Today was my last phone call though, if no positive outcome I will take more formal action.
 
No email/snail mail yet for me. Maybe the ones that took advantage of it last time wont be invited :D
 
Could be a new card member only promo given the person who's received this have only signed up like 6 months ago.

My outstanding owed balance has now posted. So another 100K ;) I have not totaled up my total Pints Run Haul on this yet...but it will be enough for a *A J return to Europe :D

Called Amex today and they have not made any progress since my last call in September! :shock: :(

My final balance ( a lot less than yours) was finally posted just before Christmas, however this was only after I put my complaint in writing and said I would refer it to the Financial Ombudsman if not resolved.
 
Well obviously I am getting nowhere and I think it would probably best if I went down the written letter/complaint path myself.

The person on the phone yesterday was friendly enough but could not do anything to help me as someone else is looking after my investigation. That person is on holidays. Anyway the person I was speaking with said that my assigned consultant will call me back when he returns from holidays on Saturday. I could only laugh and mentioned that he has not called back in over 3 months so why would he call back now. :rolleyes:
 
They never called me back about ANY of the missing bonus points that I rang to chase up

Dick Smith points
NIB Health insurance points
Hotel Club points.

I eventually got a very nice lump sum of MR points, in the 6 figure range, for "Customer loyalty" though..... to stop me ringing......... :shock:
