CitiBusiness Gold to QFF, Post March

Seems I jumped the gun too early. I did not realize there was an 80,000 cap on points per year.

I spend over $1,000,000 on my card each year as I operate my own business.

I earned over 2,000,000 points with the Gold card but was then capped. I then upgraded to the Platinum card and earned points for 1 month and was then capped again.

So when I saw this business card I thought it had no limits like some of the other banks business cards. Seemed too good to be true and it was. I don't know why Citibank think their business card is so "exclusive".

Time for me to jump ship elsewhere.

Thats not a bad effort, considering the advertised cap is about 60,000.

You could look at the commbank Plat card.
For $200 you can earn 150,000 points before capping.

I was fine until I made a large redemption. I had enough QFF points from other sources so just let me Citibank points accumulate. Shortly after I made a large redemption I was capped. So seems like it is a manual process.

150,000 is not worth the effort as some months I can spend more than this. I think I will get a business card that has unlimited points and sacrifice that it earns only half a point or so per dollar.

I want to waive the fees..... any tips... ?

From my experience if you call Citibank you can only speak to a monkey. I think the call centre staff have extremely little authority so I wouldn't bother trying as I doubt they can do anything except read a script. Maybe if you threaten cancellation they can put you through to someone who has a little bit of authority to do something but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Have a look at the westpac earth Platinum then
Earth Platinum Card Features and Rates

1.5 points per dollar on amex and 0.5 per dollar on mastercard.

This way you get everything on the one statement with only one bill to worry about.

Well you would have needed to have the card for over a year and be spending a substantial amount on the card every month.

You would then call cancellations and tell them you are thinking of canceling the card as the fee is up for renewal and were wondering what they can offer you to keep the card.

Using references like that has got previous posters suspended / banned from AFF:rolleyes:

Thanks for the tip. However I will think I will go with the NAB Qantas Platinum card. It gives 1.5 points per dollar on amex and 0.66 points per dollar on visa. this is slightly better than the earth platinum card. the other Big advantage of the NAB one to the earth one is that it gives points for BPAY transactions whereas the earth one does not.

You will need to call them and enroll in the CitiQantas program if you want to transfer points to QFF

I don't think there is a charge of $19 for the citibusiness gold card for transfers to QFF as they have stated that there is no change to the way transfers are done to QFF from a Citibusiness Gold card.

So currently the citibusiness card is practically the best citibank card out there at the moment.

Just spoke with the Sydney office today and my new citibusiness gold card is being sent out and should be fee free for life.
