Does anyone know where you can see all the fare rules for a Circle Pacific fare?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks for that Lindsay.

BTW, I did look first in your "Ultimate Qantas Guide".

Bob, that was actually NM who answered you (but you must have become mistaken in your haste to read the rules).

But in line with your second suggestion, I have added that to the ULTIMATE Qantas Guide.

Had you known, you could have accessed it in the first post there (Qantas heading), at the bottom "Industry Sales (Agents) Web Site"

Yes, I clearly became disoriented. I can't even blame jat lag this time.

Thanks NM

Anyway, the trip kicks off this Monday - BNE SYD LAX YYZ etc etc

I got a points upgrade to first on the SYD to LAX sector, so hopefully I will sleep well.

Well done Bob. F trans-pacific is a great way to fly. I'll let you off for the "jat lag" (sic) :D . Its always good being mistaken for a younger man :p .

I'm still waiting on confirmation of my requirements for early April. A DCIR26 is on the cards (can't quite fit into 22,000 miles), or I may end up with a DONE4 depending on the costing and how I can fund it.

My problem is including KUL since the only way there on OneWorld is via HKG, and HKG-KUL-HKG adds considerable miles to the route. Alternative is to get into SIN and take a cheap MAS or SIA shuttle up, but then I still have the problem of getting from SIN to USA, which means a transit into HKG anyway. And a DONE4 will open up a lot more possibilities in USA as I will likley need to be in IAD, ORD, DFW and possibly PHL. I will have a weekend to get from KUL to USA so cound route via LHR.

The other advantage with DONE4 is that it can be ticketed as late as the day of departure, while a DCIR22/26 must be issued 7 days before departure, and the way my timing is turning out, I may not have it all sorted out by 7 days ahead.

Well since I am now suffering the effects of jat lag hopefully I will be excused my spelling and mistaken identity errors.

QF was great, with helpful, courteous and interested cabin crew (as least they gave that appearance which is all that matters). I now have a pair of black pyjamas with a Qantas logo and an Oroton toiletry bag from the F trip. First ever flat bed to sleep on in flight. Speaking of first times...the first time I flew with Qantas from Aust to USA they gave me a certificate signed by King Neptune when we crossed the equator, and the Captain signed my Qantas junior flyers logbook. I must take it with me on my next flight and see how I go.

For once, LAX immigration was speedy, but they made up for it with a 1 hour queue to get through security to depart on AA to YYZ. YYZ T3 baggage handlers were up to their usual standard, with a long delay, followed by the bags being sent out on the wrong carousel. Having learned through multiple experiences at YYZ (i.e. 4 plus hours to transfer baggage between terminals), I carried my luggage with me on the shuttle to T1 and rechecked it there. QF should take a leaf out of the book of AC's Maple Leaf lounges (sorry, couldn't help it) and provide free broadband access.

Made it to my final destination about midnight for a 5 AM start, so am now sitting here wondering what the hell I am doing on the web when I should be in bed...

By the way, I changed my DCIR22 to a DCIR26 at the last minute, as I will be stopping in BKK for a few days on the way home.

Bob, trust that the thought of all those additional FF points and SC's to be earned on the DCIR26 helped you getting some sleep.... 8)

F is certainly an experience I want to have again...one day (looks in the direction of Mrs LW) :D

Another question for the experts:

I upped my DCIR22 to a DCIR26 before departure, as I am planning a stop in BKK on the way back. Now am I looking at a further change. Instead of BKK SYD BNE, I now want to fly BKK CNS WEI - stopover in WEI and then fly WEI CNS BNE to complete the journey. This all fits inside 26000 miles.

Now the interesting part:
The fare rules my TA has for stopovers on this fare state: "MAX ONE PERMITTED IN AUST AT INTERNATIONAL GATEWAY"
The rules on the QF website (accessed courtesy of NM's link) state: "A maximum of one stopover in country of origin"

Why would these be different for the same product, and which takes precedence? As you can guess, I think that the QF website rules are the ones to go with, as my interpretation of them is that the entire BKK CNS WEI CNS BNE segment comes within the rules and cost of my existing fare.

Well I'll throw out a challenge. It looks like I've finally stumped the experts on the forum - no one has come up with an answer to my post above. Come on guys, I have great confidence in your abilities.

One would assume the QF website is internationalised and is valid for commencement of the journey in any eligible country and the TA's rules are have been 'dumbed down' specifically for fares purchased ex Oz (we don't want to confuse our BNE TA's now, do we :) ).

There are often differnces in rule details for common products such as OneWorld Circle Pacific fares depending on the carrier or GRS where the booking is made. This also happens with OneWorld Explorer fares.

If the TA is seeing that stopover restriction in the Starfile on the reservation system, then they are not going to issue the ticket unless the itinerary is in compliance. You have a couple of choices - fine a new TA that will issue based on the less specifici QF rules, or take your stopover in CNS and purchase a separate CNS-WEI-CNS ticket.

Thanks for rising to the challenge. :D

On the basis of talking to someone else, I rang Qantas in USA and they changed my flight to include the Weipa stopover without any problem. Just had to pay the $100 ticket reissue fee.

Has anyone had any success with getting a Y fare when a D is not available. The WEI CNS flights are all economy, so of course D is not available. The flight I want has no L availability, but lots of Y. However I had to book on a less suitable flight which had L available.
