Just got off QF635. Crew and CSM Were excellent, managed to get "extra cheer" for myself and my partner; including a few rows back. We also got boxes of chocolates and a thank you for flying QF.

I was on QF 459 this afternoon and we received a small star shaped chocolate (to go with our salad dinner) and a merry christmas from the crew. As for the lounges, there were no special offerings in either the QP or the Dom J Lounge in SYD.

Flew to Singapore today in J and can confirm no special Xmas meals. Only a sugar candy stick at the airport

24th Dec QF9 First
no Xmas food but made up with fabulous crew - thank you
yuletide log at Emirates Lounge DXB
will see what DXB-LHR holds...

I'm now at the QP in BNE... Same old same old except the J lounge is shut for business (pardon the pun!). Let's see if there will be anything special on my first 717 flight!

Don't forget to thank QF crew who are on shift today! Apparently if you have less than 22 years service you're going to be working.

A Fairfax article here about flying on Xmas day. Looks like some interesting things done in various places.

Recently, passengers waiting for flights from Hamilton and Toronto to Calgary were asked by a virtual Santa what they wanted for Christmas. Most of their wishes came true when they landed in Calgary and their requested gifts came out on the luggage carousel.

There were flat-panel television sets and tablets, but pity the guy who asked for socks and undies.
Video of the pre-Christmas stunt has gone viral and has already been seen more than 32 million times, far surpassing the airline's goal of 200,000 views on YouTube.

The Aussie airlines aren't handing out the big-ticket items like WestJet, but they are talking turkey.

Just remember no drinks in QLD QPs unless your having a substantial meal!

There was tinsel all along the overhead compartment bins in the J cabin on the 717... I'm now at the QP in CBR and it was the same breakfast fare. Waiting for the bar to open!

Boxes of chocolates being handed out in j today bne-mel

Same for CBR-MEL when lunch was being served which included a minced fruit tart... Cabin crew wore Santa hats. Nice way to mark the occasion and also what will most likely be my final flight on the B734!

I was going to ask why but thought against asking as the answer would more than likely not make any sense to me.

1920s style licencing laws, it was discussed in depth last year, pretty sure the status quo applies.

Santa popped in to the MEL F lounge this morning.
Plenty of ho ho hoing, but no presents for me.
He must have checked his 'naughty or nice' list.

I'm currently getting quietly snozzeled in the BNE QP. No substantial meal has been eaten and no problem getting served. So far!

I used to travel on Christmas Day every year. Same food in QF Y every year. Became very fed up with that and even more with the crew's Santa hats and ho-ho-ing up and down the aisles. When I switched my bookings to SQ I thought I'd escaped - the jollity that is. But not the utterly predictable food choices though: on the SIN-LHR leg I was offered "char-kai". Thought: "Well that's an Asian dish I'm not familiar with", so asked for a description. It turned out to be turkey!

[Edited to add: Running a small business, Christmas Eve was the busiest trading day of the year, so Christmas Day was the earliest I could get away to be with my family in the UK: for me Christmas didn't start until I was with them, and I didn't want to pre-empt it.]

In J on BNE-MEL I had a turkey, cranberry and brie toasted sandwich on a refreshment flight. Quite nice.

In F on MEL-LHR there was nothing but an even bigger box of chocolates given out to F pax. Some crew had reindeer ears on, some didn't. Taittinger not loaded on either leg but Pol Roger Winston Churchill 2000 readily available. In the lounges there was some christmas options and the EK f lounge had a few christmas offerings in the buffet too. All staff and crew en route wishing everyone a merry christmas which was nice.

They served "Christmas Slice" that is, a piece of fruit cake, on my Qantaslink flight from CFS-SYD on Boxing Day. Moist and quite nice.
In the F lounge in Sydney, also on Boxing Day, roast turkey was on offer.
