Christmas drinks on the BAM [Fri 19th Dec 14]

This is always a great day. Can't make it this year but looking forward to following the thread and looking at the pix that will be taken on the trip.
 
I was really looking forward to this but because I'm paid up for an event the next day I shall not be able to attend.
Getting the Friday off might have been tricky too.

I'm sure everybody going will have a great time and I look forward to the reports.

I had really hoped to get away on the BAM, but employer not so keen. I have been scheduled for a work function with some clients that afternoon. I won't be able to make the trip, but if I manage to keep the morning free could pop across the road to farewell BAM at Central.

I did read that BAM was stopping at Revesby, maybe you could do a short trip and just get the next train back to Central?
 
Hi all, yes we'll have one or two stops through the suburbs so anyone not able to have the whole day can ride part way. When we get closer to time I'll have a look at what passengers trains are going the other way about an hour into our trip so anyone can simply change trains to return to Sydney.

In fact a quick look at the timetable shows if we left Central at 11am people could ride to Picton and change trains and be back in Sydney at 2.15pm. My guess though is it will be hard to stop talking, put your drink down and get off!

We'll try and have some options to suit as many as possible. :D

Just confirming the 19th? Things are actually looking alright for that day!
 
Dec 19 it is, crew confirmed as the same driver as last year.

We're good to go, although I haven't check with Charlie.

So people, start deciding and confirming.

Saturday........I've put in for a stop at the Loaded Dog. :D
 
I am edging closer to confirmed status... A few ducks need to be lined up first, but hopefully I should be able to make this one work again.
 
Likely timetable.

Sydney 10.30
Revesby for those coming straight form the airport, this station is on the airport line.
Campbelltown for anyone living on the south side
Picton, for anyone needing to head back to the city
Goulburn 13.30 no stopping
Tarago 14.00 to 17.00
Bungendore 17.30 to 18.15
Canberra 19.00

Unfortunately looking highly unlikely for me due to prior commitments. Pity, thoroughly enjoyed the last one.

Friday;
Flight - OOL-SYD VA500 06:00-08:30
Accommodation - Novotel Canberra

Saturday;
Flight - VA. I am on an ART to SYD, then SYD-OOL, ex CBR at about 3 or 4pm. I will be looking to fly ahead on a direct service.

I don't know how much use it is, but I can guest into the lounge too.
