China Southern Delays/Cancellations

In the previous post the flight from SYD is CZ326 not 325.

On Sunday 15 October, CZ325 is again late. Saturday 14 saw this 2110 hours scheduled flight take off at 2207; Sunday sees it arriving at an estimated 1047 hours, 82 minutes late.

UPDATE: Returning to PVG on CZ326 on Sunday 15, A333 B-5922 was airborne at 1251 (scheduled departure is 1245 hours) so at gate arrival should be at about 1910 tonight, 40 late.

CZ3071 is the redeye from SZX to SYD that on Monday 16 October 2017 should arrive at about 0833, 68 minutes late with A333 B-6086.

MU739 (0020 hours PVG down to MEL that took off at 0127 hours, A332 B-6537) is set to arrive at 1503, 83 minutes late.

CZ325, the Tuesday 17 October 2110 hours CAN - SYD that took off at 2139 with A333 B-5922 should arrive on Wednesday 18 at about 1013, 48 minutes tardy.

On Thursday 19 October, the SZX down to SYD CZ3071 should arrive at about 0829 hours, 64 late with A333 B-6502. Because the returning flight CZ3072 has a greater than minimum turnaround allowance, it should be able to depart practically on time at 0945 hours, again demonstrating the value to international airlines of allowing (where feasible - such as when slots are available and a myriad of other considerations) of taking the 'reversal' slowly in terms of how long is allowed in the timetable at an outstation like Sydney.

Tuesday 24 October sees CZ325, the overnight from CAN down to SYD (A333 B-5928) arriving at 1018, 53 minutes late. AS CZ326 is not timetabled to depart until 1145, with good management (and luck) it should be able to punctually depart, showing yet again how wise it is for international airlines (where feasible with available slots and other considerations) to ensure that planes are on the ground for more than the minimum achievable turnaround.

On Monday 6 November, CZ321 (2120 hours Sunday night CAN - MEL that did not take off until 2238 hours, A333 B-5928) should arrive at 1033 hours, 48 late. As CZ355 is not timetabled to depart until 1130 hours, it should only be marginally late, as it may be ready to depatrt if all goes well at about 1150.

CZ326 (1125 hours SYD - CAN that was in the sky at 1143, hardly late at all) with A333 B-5928 on Tuesday 7 November is suggested as arriving at 1819 hours, 44 late, presumably due to adverse winds.

On Thursday 9 November 2017, CZ3072 (0920 hours SYD up to SZX, A333 B-6502) took off at 0942; due to adverse winds, arrival is expected at about 1613, 48 minutes late.

Monday 27 November 2017 sees CZ382 (0955 hours BNE - CAN that took off at 1026 hours, A333 B-8361) suggested as arriving at 1734, 44 minutes behind time.

Thursday 30 November has CZ343 (0905 hours morning CAN - MEL that took off at 1128 with A333 B-5940) likely to arrive at 2344 hours, 134 minutes late. CZ322, the 2330 hours ex MEL should be able to commence pushing back, all being well, at about 0100 hours.

During the very late evening of Monday 11 December 2017, CZ326 (1125 hours SYD - CAN, A380 B-6139) took off slightly more than 12 hours late (1) at 2356 post curfew. To do so would have required a dispensation from the Ministerial delegate. Arrival on Tuesday 12 is suggested as 0728 hours instead of 1735 this afternoon.

The A380 had arrived 13 minutes early at 0912 this morning on CZ325 so there's no obvious reason why it was delayed for so long. Was it crew members having gone off sick, or some technical problem?

On New Year's Day 2018, CZ602, the 0825 hours SYD to CAN took off at 1142. A333 B-5940 should arrive at 1842, 227 minutes late.

Saturday 6 January 2018 sees CZ325, the overnight from CAN to SYD that on Friday night took off at 2251 hours despite a timetabled departure of 2100, arriving at a suggested 1057 hours, 87 minutes late with A380 B-6137. The return flight CZ326, the 1125 hours should be able to depart from about 1245.
