Changes to QF Loyalty Bonus (now includes status credits)

Question, I reached 500 sc and received notification of my status bonus, I didn't use the bonus right away as my points were expiring on the 30 of January so wanted to save the bonus sc's for the next year. Then through sheer luck I managed to score more sc's by December that pushed me to over 1000 sc's which I thought would have initiated another sc bonus?

So now I'm in my new stays year I applied my bonus expecting another to appear but nothing?

Has anyone else had an experience like this?

Ok so I think I understand, the sc's have to come solely from QF or JQ flights?

Yes, QF or JQ marketed flights.

Specifically earning QF & Jetstar flight numbers. QF8404 on EK metal then yes, AA7349 on QF metal, no.

When you login to your Qantas account, there is an info box displaying Your Status Credits. Click on the "Show Additional Status Information" text link at the bottom of the box and it will clearly show how many status credits are required for your next loyalty bonus.

Status credits gained from a loyalty bonus don't count towards for your next bonus.

Question:

I'm WP On Tuesday next week with my FF year ending 31st December. I'll hit the 1500 status bonus a week later. If I elect to wait until the New Year and select the SC option will those credits count towards retaining Platinum next year or will they be assumed to be earned during the previous FF year and not be included?

If my current arrangements maintain into next year I will more than likely gain P1 status. I hope that the gotcha on this offer doesn't mean the difference between getting there or not.

I think a few people have confirmed that it applies in the year you select it rather than the year it was "earned".

The credits do count towards Lifetime Status and there are limits on how many of these loyalty bonuses can count towards obtaining/retaining status so even if you have to take them at a time that it is not ideal it's not a waste if you haven't yet reached LTG.

I can confirm it is applied in the anniversary year you select it, or it did for me. Also helped get a little closer to LTG

Sorry to say NO. Red Roo provided an update several weeks ago. They were enhanced and now only in observation mode.

Interesting... I will be in the same boat in a couple weeks if I don't make a selection now. Might have to make up my mind sooner than later.

I guess the outsourced customer care do not have a script for this.

received my first option to convert bonus to SC's, and went with it . I should get another before end of membership year. its a pity I dont really need it for WP re qualification, but the LT Sc's are a bonus
