Then use it until the expiry date and then you will be approached by Macquarie with emails (and snail mail) to join the new program

See Hilton Macquarie web page

No, you don't have to - I changed at check-out (ADL Hilton) to my preferred Amex with no issues.

Yes, these rates are valid for HH points accrual as well as points through whichever CC you use. The program under Macquarie is not linked to any othes, so I have no desire to use the CC for anything other than the annual fee (which incorporates the Hilton Priority Club - the only value I perceive in holding the CC).

Yes, first point noted on the web page

i had quick read of their Macq benefits. It seems you earm Mac reward points but cant accrue them and forward them onto another airline loyalty program (eg Virgin atlantic or Miles and more). For example, i am looking for a card where i can accrue points and allocate them to a big variety of airline loyalty programs, but not Qantas as i have Plat Amex Altitude for that. Would i do any better than just getting a normal Amex not assoc with any bank and accrue (is it Ascent points)? so i can have flexibility to transfer to Virgin or Miles and More or jal etc?
any ideas
thanks

Correct - to me, that's the downside of this CC - thus the reason I'm only using it for the HPC benefits

I have also received the email with the $275 HMPC offer. Don't know what to do as I really do not need another credit card.

I am over Hotel loyalty programs and I still have 4 "Member for a Stay" cards to use for future stays.

I assume you guys are April renewals?

They must know I'm not planning to renew. Expires end of the month - and have heard nothing from them.

I got the letter earlier this month selling the benefits of the new Mac Bank with Hilton.

Still not thinking of renewing, but I did get my money's worth from HPC (although it helps to have HHG).

Got that letter too. Can't see any reason for me to get a HPC card under the new system. My current lack of Hilton stays means I have to watch expiry of points closely!!

They never sent me the breakfast coupon/wine coupon or whatever it was for updating my details! Perhaps I didn't update enough of the details to make them happy!

I also got great value out of HPC, but my stay patterns have changed and doubt I'd get value at the moment.

Mal, you need to have a stay with Hilton to get the freebie. My email said:

To update or confirm your details are correct, please complete the form below by Friday 19 February, 2010 and enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine or one full buffet breakfast, when you next stay at Hilton.

Means I should get something at my Adelaide stay for ozfest...

You need to have received the voucher though. I know oz_mark, anat0l and I have received it. We're having a wine party!

I got great value, too; though don't see any point in renewing with the new program. As I have no status in any hotel program I prefer to just go for the 'best price' option these days. It worked out nicely in Europe and NZ for me.

I'll join if Hilton will accept my expired voucher  (it'll be over the date by about a fortnight)

As I have already noted I received two offer to update details and subsequently two vouchers (June 30 exp).

I also received 2 emails inviting me to apply for the card asn two letters asking the same.

Mine expired on 30 April and I did not bother to renew. I did get good use out of the HPC membership considering we got a bargain for 2 years membership.

Like Mal I need to watch that the points do not expire although with a stay in ADL Hilton coming up end of the month means the points have another 12 months life.
