The timetabled 2250 hours arrival into MEL ex HKG, CX163 is an hour late on Tuesday 6 October. The projected departure of CX178 back to 'Honkers' (shocking name) has been delayed from the normal 0040 to an expected 0110 hours on Wednesday 7.

CX162 departed SYD on Monday 26 October 61 minutes behind time at 1226 and is due in HKG at 1830, 40 minutes late.

A330 B-LAG operating CX163 from HKG to MEL on 5 November took off at 1121, 61 minutes after its timetabled gate departure, with the flight now not far from MEL and due to be at the terminal at 2309 hours rather than the timetabled 2235. As the return CX178 is not due out until 0050 on Friday 6 November from MEL, if all goes well it should not suffer any delay from the tardy arrival.

The 2310 hours (Saturday 7 November) CX101 did not take off until 0210 on Sunday 8 so is coming into SYD at 1346 in lieu of its timetabled arrival of 1215. B773ER B-KQO should then, touch wood, be on time for CX100 returning to 'Honkers' as that is not due to depart until 1555 this arvo.

CX161 (A333 B-LAQ) was timetabled to depart HKG on Thursday 26 November but did not take off until 2239. it is taxiing at SYD and about to arrive at the gate at 1025, 40 minutes late. This will delay the 1125 return to HKG, CX162.

CX161 (A333 B-LAQ) was timetabled to depart HKG on Thursday 26 November but did not take off until 2239. it is taxiing at SYD and about to arrive at the gate at 1025, 40 minutes late. This will delay the 1125 return to HKG, CX162.

Probably waiting for connecting passengers from mainland china.

Yes, MEL_Traveller, a common reason for CX delays. This must cost that airline a lot of money.

CX135 from HKG is badly late into MEL this morning (Sunday 6 December), being expected at 0958 in lieu of 0730. The 0850 hours return flight is delayed until 1110. Competitor QF30 is also late.

CX139 tonight looks like it'll be diverted to Melbourne. First time a CX 77W arrival into Tullamarine?

der1, that aircraft is B773ER B-QKP, normally due in SYD at 2045 hours. It indeed looks to be heading south and is presently at about Canowindra, NSW.

It should be in MEL at about 2230 hours. This is a busy time for curfew free MEL as many international flights depart between 2200 and 0130.

www.sydneyairport.com.au has yet to catch up with how CX138, the 2220 hours from SYD to HKG tonight (9 December) will not operate if the inbound is diverting to MEL. Looks like two lots of hastily arranged hotel accommodation for CX inbound (in MEL) and outbound (stuck in SYD) passengers.

Anyone travelling is welcome to update us all on the speed and efficiency as to how CX contracted staff make such hotel (or taxi) arrangements.

CX139 will fly MEL - SYD tomorrow morning at 0900, arrive 1030. Will then form CX138D ~1200 departure back to HKG on 10-Dec

The Online Flight Booking | Airfare | United States - Cathay Pacific website indicates, der1, that CX138 arrived in MEL last night at 2253 while today (10 December) it will now depart as CX139 at 1400 hours ex MEL, stop in SYD from 1530 to 1700. operating as CX138D with checkin today from 1430 hours in SYD. I assume that the later departure is due to minimum required hours of rest for flight crew in particular (and cabin crew.)

Were SYD-bound passengers this morning (10 December) rebooked on earlier QF flights between MEL and SYD if they chose, or are they all having to wait until this arvo to depart from MEL?

The delayed CX138D from 9 December took off from SYD on 10 December at 1739 hours.

CX162 is the 1125 SYD - HKG. On Sunday 20 December it took off at 1215 so arrival will be at 1833, 43 minutes late with A333 B-LBJ doing the honours.

The 14 January 2016 CX139 (B773ER B-KQZ) is meant to depart HKG at 0840 hours but took off at 0939.

Not helped by SYD's storms tonight, it has just emerged from a holding pattern and likely to pull up at the gate at roughly 2147, 62 minutes behind time. This aircraft will be late departing (time due out is 2220) so one hopes it 'makes curfew.'

CX105 is not arriving in MEL from HKG until a forecast 1331 today, 71 minutes late (Sunday 17 January 2016.)

CX110, the 0845 hours SYD to HKG (A333 B-LAG) did not takeoff on Friday 11 March until 0940.

On Holy Thursday (24 March), CX134 from MEL to HKG, the 0850 hours, took off at 1027 with forecast arrival at about 1620 hours, 70 minutes late. Aircraft is A333 B-LAI.

Friday 1 April 2016 sees CX127 expected about 55 minutes late into PER at roughly 0645 hours. Aircraft is A333 B-LAP, which did not take off on Thursday night 31 March from HKG until 2313 despite a departure time from the terminal of 2205.
