Hi All,

Exciting, I just booked my OneWorld Classic Reward flights through Qantas. I depart Perth with Cathay Pacific at 7am and I don't think there is a Cathay Pacific Lounge in Perth International terminal. Am I able to access the Qantas International Business Lounge? My flight has a CX number (not QF) so I'm not sure how/if I'm able to access the lounge.

Thanks in advance.
Tom

There’s also the question of how much longer CX can continue to operate, and on what routes. 🤷‍♂️

QF have closed their international J lounge in T1. That is what you previously would have used.

Looks like CX is now using the Apsire Lounge according to https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_US/destinations/lounges/perth-per/aspire-lounge.html The previous QF lounge was pretty average so this can only be a step up.

This would assume you're travelling in J. Not sure if OW status would get you access or not.

Edit: The website states "Opening hours:18:30 - 22:30 (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday)". Not sure if it will be open for your 7am flight.

The booking I made was with QF on a multi-city ticket (all on the one ticket). Hopefully if there are any changes or cancellations of flights etc. QF would put us on similar / equivalent flights with someone else?

Also, the Aspire Lounge isn't open during the hours that we are flying, so seems like no lounge access then?

Hopefully you are right. Unfortunately, when JL recently cancelled my MEL-NRT flight, QF has not been interested.

Fingers crossed then... Seems doesn't matter which airline you pick, there is risk involved regardless.

Our flights aren't until late Apr/May 2023

came across this thread looking for what i would have access to on my cathay flight 30 of december. had looked a few weeks ago and they had really short opening hours, seems they have extended it as it wasnt even open everyday? from memory? interested to try this lounge. those that have what are your thought on it? my flight leaves just after midnight on the 30th so ill be in there late on the 29th.

Opening hours:
12:00 – 01:30 (Monday, Thursday, Saturday)
12:30 – 00:30 (Tuesday)
12:00 – 00:00 (Wednesday)
12:00 – 22:30 (Friday, Sunday)

I think as more oneWorld airlines have returned to Perth they have extended their hours. They've been open for the MH departures at 2.30 am

Awesome, hopefully they are open when we are there. Since posting I have now also become a OneWorld Sapphire member. There aren't any other OneWorld lounges in operation that I could get access to (just in case the Aspire lounge is closed)?

I don't think so from what i could see but i could be wrong, i am relieved now too, i will have access there. i have a long lay over in hong kong now due to cancelled flights and lack of availability with CX so i am stuck in hong kong for 16 hours. The pier lounge will be open for the duration at least. i think thats the business one thats open.

The QFF lounge at PER T3 is inside immi and int security, and CX goes from T1 at PER, so you would not have access to the T3 QF int transit lounge.
Don't think there are any (other) OW lounge at PER T1, apart from Aspire, which would accept a pay on entry, if they are open.
For a 7am int flight, it would not be worth it to pay a visit either, to the QP/QF J lounge at PER T4.
