Received an email promoting the new app, so thought I'd give it a try, but the damn thing won't let me log in! Have tried downloading it on iPhone and iPad (which both have the required version of IOS), but on entering the password, I get a message saying "Incorrect details. The details submitted were incorrect. Please try again". Tried logging into my Flybuys account on my Mac with the same password, went through no problem at all, so don't know why the app won't work.

Have tried the following (individually and in combination):

Deleting and downloading the app again (on both devices)
Scanning my Flybuys card.
Entering my Flybuys number manually (and obsessively checking that each digit is correct).
Changing the password via the Mac (after logging out and back in again with the new password).
Double, triple, quadruple-checking that each letter/number/symbol of the password is correct (which they all were).
Made sure I was completely logged out of my account on the computer and tried logging in via the app.

but NOTHING will work. Finally gave up in disgust and deleted the app (again) from both devices.

It sounds very frustrating.

You've said you've checked that you have the right version of the operating system so I'm not sure where you should go next. The flybuys technical team might have some good advice or it's possibly a known problem they are working on.

I haven't tried installing it yet on my Android phone but I don't think it will work for me as I'm running an old version of Android.

Yes, it's very frustrating - I can't for the life of me work out what's going wrong, especially as I can log into my account with no problems on my desktop Mac so don't know why that accepts the password, but the app rejects it - or possibly it's rejecting the Flybuys number, or for some reason not matching the number and password due to some sort of glitch?

Thought I'd try here first to see whether anyone else has had issues - have had a look at their Facebook page but couldn't see any posts re this problem.

Same issue, "incorrect password". I know its right! Agree, frustrating :)

So it's not just me then! Just logged into my Flybuys account via the computer again and password is definitely correct.

This reminds me of the issue I've had with some online survey sites I've tried to log into on my desktop pc. I know I've put the right password in but still get a message of wrong password. It's also happened on my android phone on a tracking app.

The reason I had a problem on my PC was a browser issue. They wanted a later version of Firefox than I was running. Maybe you have the right operating system version but an incompatible browser. My gut feeling is that it is still flybuys fault and they should have made the app more compatible with different browsers and operating systems.

The time this happened with an app on my phone I discovered it was a VPN issue. I had two tracking apps running on my phone. They had both been working side by side for a few months and then I suddenly had problems with the first tracking app I'd been running on my phone for a few years. I kept logging in with the correct password and got rejected. The second tracking app was running a VPN. There was a new version of the first app released which I was told to upgrade to or miss out on my points. It turned out the new version of the first app also had a VPN and I couldn't log into it as there was no way of running 2 VPNs on my phone. I ended up getting rid of the first tracking app and kept the second tracking app which paid me more each month. It took the technical section of the first tracking app ages to admit they were trying to run a VPN on my phone and that because of other changes this was the only way they could collect data. Once I realised I couldn't run both I deleted the first app.

Flybuys love tracking things. I'm wondering what permissions they are trying to get and what information they want to have access to on your phone and what they do with the extra data they collect. Perhaps there is a hidden VPN issue as well.

I have no idea. I'm not a technical person. I'm only giving my observations and may not be connecting the dots correctly. The connections between my issues and your issues are only speculation. Maybe I'm on the right track and maybe I'm not. I was just trying to help. I hope you can get the situation resolved.

Thanks for your post Rainbowgirl - it could quite easily be something like that or maybe not, I have no idea. I'm not a technical person either and any suggestions/observations/info are certainly welcome! I rarely ever use my iPhone and have very few apps (other than the ones it came with) running on it - the only browser on the phone is Safari (which is up to date) which I've probably only used 3-4 times in the last year LOL. I only ever connect to the Internet when I'm using our wifi at home, or VERY occasionally free airport or hotel Wifi when we're travelling and need to use Uber or Google maps. Otherwise data is switched off, so maybe the Flybuys app doesn't like that - or that I usually have location services turned off as well.

Same with the iPad (which is Wifi only) - I use that almost daily but don't take it out and about with me (except when travelling), so it's usually only ever connected to the wifi at home. I have a few more apps on that which I use occasionally and have both Safari and Chrome browsers (both of which are up to date) but still no dice with the Flybuys app.

I can log into my Flybuys account successfully on my desktop Mac using either Chrome or Safari so no problems there. Seeing as I rarely use apps anyway, I have little or no idea what can go wrong or cause issues with them, so I'm easily stumped with these sorts of things. After spending two hours trying to get the app to work on my devices, I'm reluctant to even bother with it again at this stage - I just thought it would be handy (and might mean I start getting the equivalent of the Flybuys paper "coupons" - which I haven't received in the mail for years - seeing as they're going be available through the app, but maybe I'm just being optimistic there).

I downloaded the app this morning and logged in first try. Not sure how that helps, but just thought I would share my experience with it.

I downloaded the app last week to my iPhone and accessed it without any difficulty. Just sharing the information, not saying I have any technical expertise.;)

We're sorry you've had problems (and apologies for the delay in responding to this). We did find a small group of flybuys members whose passwords wouldn't work on the app; we believe we've fixed all but a much smaller number of cases. We would encourage you to try again; if you still have problems, then we suggest changing your password. We're sorry for the hassle; if you continue to have problems we're happy to investigate further via private message.

Thank you very much for your reply and advice that this was a known issue and a fix has been applied. I've just downloaded the app again to my phone and am very pleased to say I was able to successfully log in this time :) .

I'm guessing now it was a coding issue with the passwords. Perhaps the app system wasn't ready to take really long complex passwords.

Thanks flybuys for looking into it and it's great Jurahn that you were able to get it working.

Thanks for the feedback; we're glad this is now working for you :)

Very happy that it's now working on both the iPhone and iPad and yes, it could well have been a coding issue. Thanks again to the Flybuys rep - who I have to say I've found be the most proactive and responsive rep(s) on AFF :)
