I must admit i ponder what is in this for Bunnings - they own the market. Unless FB will send/sell them customer data as part of the contractual arrangement (almost certainly) and they see an opportunity to increase sales/profit by more than the cost of the fb points earned by their existing customers.

They will data mine you and get you to spend more. Simple :)

How many sausages will I need to buy for a F flight reward to Europe?

Oh wait, sausages are excluded form Bunnings FB program.

As for OfficeWorks, isn't this a return to the program, having previously been part of FB, or is my memory as grey as my hair?

OfficeWorks (and Harris Technology for that matter) withdrew from FlyBuys in 2009.

Do you get FB points buying Bunnings GCs from Coles? The above posts suggest yes....

Officeworks is becoming a Flybuys partner as well
Actually, Officeworks was a FB member at one time a while, ((a long while ago)).
I was sad when I went there once, and was told they longer were a FB member, this would have been maybe 5 years ago, when Harris Technologies was also a FB partner, ...
Edit: that long, thought it was shorter time back than 2009.
Ta for the info, oz_mark.
Wonder if OW still sells postage stamps (!), yep, they did too at one time.
Ahhh, just checked, yes, they do still sell postage stamps, whooppeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Sorry, I am so glad of this/that.

You should!
Its a good way of keeping your VFF account active with points going in, even if now flying esp domestically is getting back to "normal"/and they (VA) have said redemptions seats with international partners are coming back.
OK, but I have no interest in keeping my VFF account active. I used to fly them domestically but have managed well without them.

If there is another covid gift from ScottMo this upcoming June, of $1080 again, it might work out a good earner for both FB and OW.
OT: tech wise, maybe Kmart and Target will loose out a bit revenue wise, some places, (South Aust) have OW locations that do not have Kmart/Target close by.

Interesting. I currently use a powerpass cash card (no credit account etc) which sees a small, generally ~5% discount on most categories. I think that's a better ROI than flybuys but it's hard to know which category gets the discount until checkout, so will have to pay more attention.

You can see the discount if you scan the item barcode into the PowerPass app on a smartphone. You can also see the PowerPass pricing on-line at the Bunnings web site if you select the "Go Trade" link and login with your PowerPass details. So you can make a decision with each shop if you want the PP discount or the FB points. You could even process as two separate transactions, one with PP for those items that receive the discount, and one for non-discounted items.

Generally, its non-trade type items or already discounted items that don't get any PP discount. So things like garden furniture, Christmas lights won't get any PP discount. Most tools and hardware do (unless already discounted).

Even when a discount does not apply, its handy being able to collect things off the shelf, scan into the app on my phone, and then just walk out of the store showing the QR code to the staff on the way out.

The partnerships have started. 1 point per $1 spent at Bunnings & Officeworks.

Good to know. I feel a need to go to Bunnings this weekend - mind you I say that every weekend, especially since the sausage sizzle has returned.
