I know it's still a way off and probably too early for people to plan ahead but I'm going to be in Brisbane from March 25 to 1 April 2011,if anyone fancies meeting for a beer or two or even lunch/dinner I would love to make your acquaintance.
I'm staying at the Medina Executive near the bridge but I'm happy to travel a reasonable distance,the drinks are on me by the way.:)

It would be a pleasure to meet you but unfortunately I am going to be in Thailand until 11 April 2011. Perhaps next time....

I was hoping drinks might coincide with St Paddy’s Day again in March 2011, but I’m sure we’ll keep you in mind come February when we’re planning a suitable day. It’d be nice to have a drink anywhere right now… ;)

Sounds good. If I'm around in Brisbane then, we can make plans. Give this thread a nudge in Feb... I'm sure some of the Brisbane regulars should be able to make it.
 
I'll be at the Bne airport on Friday 25th March between 235 and 455 pm if you are around....I can also shout you a drink at the QP:mrgreen:
 
Thanks kpc but I'm on JQ 816 from SYD to BNE and it is scheduled to arrive at about the time you are leaving-16:45-so looks like we'll just miss each other.:(
If anyone is going to be in Sydney on the 25th my flight from ABX is due at 15:00 and my connecting flight is due to leave at 16:20 so I should have enough time for a quick drink in the QP.
 
I recently got approved for a Emirates citi platinum card but I haven't used it very much so I might give it a workout.;):):)
 
OK I've decided that Irish Murphys would be a suitable venue.now the only thing is to decide the best night,I'm in Brisbane from Friday March 25 to Friday 01 April so the nights available for me are the Sat,Sun, Mon,Tue,Wed or Thu,I'm leaning towards the Wednesday 30 March myself,anyone have any preference?

I should be able to do Mon, Tue, Wed or Thu.

So Wed is starting to firm as a favorite!
 
I could probably do other days too, but just be a little closer to 6 if I have to get from TAFE to the train station at the end of the day ;)

That being said though, I may be very low on money that week after returning from Fiji :p
 
Brisbane drinks March 2011?

Wednesday 30th would probably suit me best, Thursday 31 doesn't work, Tuesday could work but not my preferred day.
 
Nothing like a late decision ... I might be able to make it, put me down as a tentative. Stay tuned for confirmation tomorrow :)
