BP Plus + Qantas Business Rewards (Earn up to 100,000 Qantas points)

My understanding is the ACCC have only approved the tie-up for the business side (Qantas Business Rewards and BP Plus, which are both B2B).

The consumer portion (QFF and BP Rewards) has been submitted but is still to be approved by the ACCC.

Has anyone recently joined the program? I can't remember seeing where to tape in my ABN number!

If by program you mean BP the first question they ask you when following the links in the promotion by Qantas is to enter your ABN. This then auto looks up that ABNs details.

Have just applied and now being assessed. Really a no-brainer for an easy 50,000 points. Will cancel once they hit obviously.

Application was simple enough as a sole trader although there seemed to be a few fields requesting the same information multiple time’s throughout - eg email, phone number etc.

The first page prior to the actual application had a box with a completed promotion code filled out. Nowhere to input this on the application though. Will confirm I’m eligible if/when I receive a card but can’t see why I wouldn’t be.

EDIT: The promo code appears on a PDF summary of the application that has just been emailed to me

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

As an Amex Platinum Edge cardholder (collecting KF points), I wonder if there is any chance that linking the new BP account to my Amex might still result in the 3 MR points (1.5KF) spent, seeing as it's still fuel. I have a feeling it would not, since it's technically not using the card at a service station directly. Any thoughts from other Edge holders? 😃

Had no issues having 3 points per dollar with my DJ Amex card when doing the BP cashback offers.

From memory, the previous Caltex deal required a credit check? Does signing up to this also incur a credit check?
Just checked with my mate who pays for the Equifax updates & reviewed his credit report, nothing was recorded when he applied for the Caltex card in June last year so tbh, this BP deal is currently stopping him applying and may continue with Woolies Caltex.

I've tried applying but it gets caught up on the directors page. For some reason it wants me to enter a second company director. Can't seem to get out of it.

((If a company has 2 directors, both have to sign.))
Eh?
And for this, it was not like the previous relationship, we can't present our QFF cards at the EFTPOS and earn points, have present the BP app and the points collect within BP, and then is then transferred to QFF in a block.
I have no interest is this, if this is the case, too complicated!
OT: Will earn my QFF points via a monthly news.com.au subscription from my QTMC.

Yes, believe I saw something to that effect during the application.

I had the alert come through on my equifax file today so you can safely assume they will do a check here.

The check itself doesn’t bother me but I was not impressed when I saw the amount recorded was $30,000. The estimated fuel spend I gave in the application was $100 per week so not sure why they would give such a large amount here. I’ll be calling them to ensure that I’m given a more appropriate limit.

That's correct. This is targeting business fleet spend which makes a lot of sense for a chain like BP.

Just got my application denied! No idea why. I have read they are notoriously difficult to get approved for if a smaller operator.

Approved yesterday. I gave them an estimate of 150 a week. A new BP opened 2 mins from my place on the way to the office conveniently.

Yup. BP Plus is white-labelled WeX, who basically don't like anyone except big fleet operators. It's kind of a toss-up what happens.

It'll show as a commercial credit enquiry, not consumer. Won't affect your score or anything.

This is not my experience. When taking out a Caltex StarCard twice previously there was a small drop in score as a result. Not that score itself seems to make much difference. The credit limit also showed up under the commercial section of the file.

Might be different for BP? Our application went through a commercial credit enquiry, not a personal one. So didn't touch any individuals file.

The BP in my area is consistently the most expensive place to fill up, by far.

Edit: The competition is United (always the cheapest by a mile), Puma, 7-Eleven and Caltex. No Shell around here.

Declined as well. Quite perplexing really. Have never been denied by any credit provider previously, no negative events on file, low credit limits currently.
