BP Plus + Qantas Business Rewards (Earn up to 100,000 Qantas points)

This is a great realisation. I got mine today also.

The only problem is during the lockdown, I only need one tank per month. Do you think it is worth driving around just to burn fuel?
A problem I'm facing at the moment, also. Plus, we have two cards that we need to make the min spend on! With work slowing, kids at home, none of our regular driving occurring, it looks like I'll have to take the long way to the shops just to burn some extra fuel. I even filled up with BP Ultimate just to push me over last month.

For anyone struggling to make the min spend during lockdown, do what I did and get a family member or friend to download the BP Plus app, then you can authorise them to use your card and fill up. I just got my brother to fill up his Pajero for $100.

T&Cs appear to have changed for this offer. When I signed up you had to complete the min spend in the first 5 months. Now they're giving you 9 months to make the min spend.

"Members will earn 10,000 bonus Qantas Points per month for every month they spend $150 on fuel, up to a maximum of 50,000 bonus Qantas points for the first 9 months."

Seems like this might be due to the reduced travel happening at the moment. I wonder if these new terms apply to members who signed up in Feb, before the COVID-19 outbreak?

That is great news! I was just sitting here trying to figure out how to get more fuel and was very pleased to read this.

Well, I went out yesterday and filled up both cars with ultimate. And then bought a $50 gift card to get to $150 (not sure if that counts).

Got my account email this morning and it doesn’t have the transactions for the 30th!? Seems like it’ll be classed as the 1/5. So miss out on 10k points. Rubbish.

The only discrepancy lies with their full T&Cs, which still say you have to make the spend in the first 5 calendar months of membership.

I might call them on Monday to clarify.
How did you go with this? I just couldn't make the $150 happen. Our second car hasn't moved in 6 weeks. I even advertised on Facebook to pat for someone's tank with a $5 discount but no bites.

Yeah, I called on Monday and they confirmed the offer was updated to 5 x $150/month during the first 9 months of membership. Meaning that if you didn't make the spend in April, you'll still qualify for bonus points in future months, provided you meet the min spend in at least 5 individual months.

I've noticed their accounts system is very slow with processing payments. You should still qualify for the bonus points, though. Worst case, see my comment above about the updated offer terms.

I noticed the same, hopefully it still counts. Calendar month is calendar month regardless of whether it makes the statement.

Can confirm purchases made in the calendar month and billed in the next month count towards required spend in the month transaction occurred. Not sure about the gift cards no experience with that, would be interested in an update if they do though.

Did you have points post?

Spent $100 on fuel and $50 on Visa gift voucher on 30/4. Appeared on invoice in BP plus on 1/5. 10k points credited to Qantas business rewards 3/5. Happy days..
Looks like may just be able to buy Visa gift vouchers as top ups on spend..

Did you have the account in March also? It's more likely that the points you received on 3/5 were March points, not April.

Got the cards in late Feb.
In Feb, spent $148 (thought I’d cracked the $150 but hadn’t).
March $150 on fuel.
April - $150 on fuel and Visa card, but posted 1/5.
Have got two lots of 10k points so far. So maybe they could be doing it based on sign up date and not calendar month? Otherwise, they must take all spent into account, not just fuel.

Your two lots of 10k points will be for February and March spend.

Even though your February spend was just under the minimum, I have been informed by BP Plus customer service that they are still honouring points if you are close enough to the target $150. They are doing this due to the increased travel restrictions which are making it harder for some customers.

As for your April spend of $100 + $50 (gift card), time will tell how much leeway they will give you. You'll find out in early June if you get any April points.
