Hello all,
I have painstakingly gone through the search function looking for an answer to this but came up with donuts. I'm sure it is a common questions, so I apologise.

I am flying BOS-DFW on AA, and then connecting to DFW-SYD. The flights are all on the one booking. Ultimately, I will end up in MEL which isn't relevant here.
Is AA able to check me in inc. boarding pass, and put my baggage through to SYD at BOS? It would give me a bit more time in case there are any delays on BOS-DFW.

Thanks in advance.

As all flights r OW the answer should be yes

In a couple of weeks I will go MIA LAX SYD with 1st leg on AA
Bags will check all the way thru

Yes they will. Even if you had separate pnrs BOS/DFW & DFW/SYD they will as AA & QF are in the One World Alliance. in DFW all you would need to do is get off the BOS flight & head straight to the Admirals Club closest to your QF departure gate.

Yes, definitely. They'll tag to MEL in fact, and you collect pre-customs in SYD, clear customs, and then take to QF transfer desk (turn right as you go out of customs) and recheck the before boarding the bus to the Dom terminal.

(Caveat: Unless your SYD-MEL is on an intl leg which I dont recall there being any QF one currently, only the JQ flights. If you are on a international leg of QF you'd not see it until MEL....)

Thanks all, always great to see people so happy to help. First time I've really dealt with connections before, so just trying to get my head around it particularly as times are tight.
