Bonuses for transferring Flybuys points to Velocity

Thanks for the info.

@Human The offer might be a bit different as, upon closer inspection, it explicitly says "manually transfer". There's nothing about auto-transfer except a link to find out more.

I'm still gun shy from having all my points transferred a few years ago and hadn't looked up the possibilities, but I see that one can manually transfer.

Given there's not likely to be any 10-15% bonuses, then I might proceed with this.

Yep, if you've read the fine print and you're happy with how it works, it looks like it's a good offer. It's effectively a 5% bonus which is just about the most you'll get with Flybuys these days.

Yeah it's a pretty short read this thread :)

I have an offer to score 2,000 Flybuys bonus points + 4,000 bonus Velocity Points when you transfer 100,000 FB points to Velocity that runs out tomorrow.

Is there a way to transfer to Velocity without the entire FB balance being sucked across too?
I've been waiting for this kind of offer but never get one. Do you think it's possible that it's because you have previously transferred Flybuys to Velocity (whereas I have not)?

When are Velocity likely to offer a bonus transfer offer? What are best transfer rates in recent times?
I have around 420,000 points to convert.

In recent times (since they increased the transfer rate to 2:1), the best bonus offers I've received have been targeted offers such as this one. Obviously this offer gives benefits on a sliding scale. If you transfer 100,000 Flybuys points the bonus is 10%. However a transfer of 400,000 points gives you a bonus of only 2.5%.

Had a purchase and bonus points 19/3
Due 2,000 Velocity FF points.
Hasn't transferred yet 4 days later??
Usually same day as Flybuys list your activity which was 20th.
Auto transfer is on as it always has been.
Anybody else having issues?

What was the bonus point offer? In my experience, when there’s an offer that includes Velocity points (ie. actual Velocity points rather than Flybuys points that can transfer to Velocity), the Velocity points may take some weeks to come through. So depending on the offer I wouldn’t be too worried.

I have auto transfer from FB to velocity & currently sitting on just over 1000FB for coupled days. So shouldn't transferred already, but hadn't so obviously some glitch.

It was a flybuys points bonus offer

Now saying auto transfer is off and issues on website and app when you try to turn back on

Trying to decide whether to take up this 15% bonus offer (if auto transfer is turned on) I calculated I'd be getting 18,000+ bonus VFF points. I realise if I do it now, the next time this offer comes along I'd be ineligible (going of the fine print in the current promo).

It’s quite annoying that it only seems to allow a once in a lifetime auto-transfer bonus. Can’t think of any other awards program that has this exclusion. Unless I’ve misunderstood T&C, but don’t think so.

I don't think a better offer will come along, but on the other hand this offer (or a similar one) will probably be repeated at some stage within the next year or two. If you don't need the points urgently, and you don't think you'll need them for a while, I don't think there's any harm in holding off.

Will be taking this up as we have over 400,000 flybuys across a couple of accounts. Just over 30,0000 bonus velocity points seems like a good deal.

I transferred mine a couple of days ago - they're in my Velocity account but no bonus - any idea how long that takes

It's an incentive to transfer and use Velocity points. I can understand why this would be a one off as it costs them to add bonus points.

Virgin like Qantas are noticing a decline in people flying due to cost of living pressures so they're trying incentives to get people to book.

Does anyone have any recent experience with how long it will take for points to transfer across to velocity once auto transfer is switched on? I know it says up to 48hrs but it this sort of timeframe usual?

Then I guess there might be a 25% offer in coming months.
