Bonuses for transferring Flybuys points to Velocity

I called them a few days ago because I hadn't received the 5% bonus either. They explained that the 5% was only given to people who linked their Flybuys and Velocity accounts during the promotion period for the first time (ever). I explained that the fine print seemed to say that the 15% bonus was for people who linked their accounts for the first time ever, but the 5% bonus was available to anyone.

They escalated it to a supervisor but stood their ground and told me that I wasn't eligible. In the end I gave up.

Complete BS. It seemed clear what the offer was, exactly as you have described.

agree re the terms of that offer. I linked my accounts again (has been a couple of covid years since I last had them linked) and thought the offer made it worthwhile.
Yet again, Flybuys are posting points or status across to velocity in a timely manner. To the point where it is never worth relying on these transfers for anything important.
Flybuys may or may not fix it, but they are losing my loyalty with these half baked promotions.

And from actual T&C - clear that 5% bonus does not exclude people who have transferred before, only the 15% auto-transfer has that exclusion.

Me too! Perhaps they got so many complaints they reasoned it was easier to award what were not a lot of points. I’ll be reading the offer wording much more closely in future.

The new offer until 31 January 2024 is 250 Velocity bonus points and 250 Flybuys bonus points for the first manual transfer of 1000+ points during the period, or 500 Velocity bonus points and 500 Flybuys bonus points for the first ever auto transfer (not clear what bonus you get if you have auto-transfer on so have turned it off).

I don't think we will aver get 15-20% bonuses again for transferring large volume Flybuys. Pity.

Yeah, they seem to have mostly gone when they changed the conversion ratio from 2:0.87 to 2:1 a few years back.

But even 5% like there was in June or July would be good. As it is, I'll do 1000 minimum later this month and stockpile the rest in Flybuys in the hope of another bonus transfer offer next year.

Got an interesting offer - turn auto transfer back on before 20 February and they'll give 300 Velocity and 300 FB points if you have at least 1K points. Have taken this up as I have 10K FB points, which means this effectively works out at a 4.5% bonus.
