Just opened my Qantas app and noticed the following offer for anyone that is fully vaccinated against COVID-19. However offer is coming soon as clicking on "Get Reward" has the following message "Watch this space! Vaccination rewards are coming for those fully vaccinated against COVID-19'

None in mine - my upcoming flight appears in the same spot instead... Do you have any bookings by any chance?

I am wondering if this applies to Qantas emloyees too.

Android app did just have an update.. but it did not give me any such offer or anything. Just the usual guff about booking to places we can't go :D

No such offer yet. But I do still have one pending (soon to be cancelled) booking in the system….

I got the same message as jc14.

I'm due to get my 2nd COVID shot next week, so I'll be ready for this.

I wonder if the 15 SC will count towards the Lifetime SCs ?

Both my iPhone and iPad QFF apps updated o/n but no joy so far.

Is it Android apps only at the moment?

Mine was on the iPhone app, however opening the Qantas app again this morning no longer has the offer displayed.

Curious which option most will go for?

Obviously, 1,000 points ≠ 15 SC which also ≠ $20

Points can be worth anything from less than 1c to about 6-7c per point meaning their value could be anything from $5-70 depending on how used. Generally, status credits are about $2-3 per SC so the 15 status credits would be worth ~$37.5? and obviously the $20 is just that. I could be completely wrong with the above calculations so keen to hear what others have to say.

For me SCs - due to rarity of non-flying options. Anyone not worried about gaining/maintaining status will chose one of the others.

But 1000 pts is easy. I just did that buying something online from Big W.

Yes, $20 = $20, but you can get that by timing flight (or other purchases) during a sale.

I would go with the SC. I have plenty of points and vouchers.

Not due for my second vaccination till late next month. With VIC in lockdown with no promise to end it any time soon, with state and international borders closed, the governments are giving me zero incentive to bring forward the second dose.

I assume this will show up for all when they make it live.

Of more interest to me personally are associated things:

- How do you prove it? Upload a copy of your digital certificate to them? I doubt they will have a link into the Medicare/gov sources (for aussies) and what of non AU members, such as the NZ crowd, US etc - will it be offered? or do you scan in your vax card or what?

- Given QF have announced they are going with the IATA Travel Pass(I think it is called) app for international travel covid related stuff would this tie in in some way - eg: set up your app, upload your info THERE, then QF gets it from there (this may make more sense for the international members too)

Or will your vax status, neg covid tests etc also be reflected in your QFF profile and/or app? and then on boarding passes? (potential privacy concerns there perhaps)

I don't see the offer, but based on the options here, I'd probably take the status credits

I think initially QF plans to use the separate IATA app, but I think I read somewhere that eventually they'd like it all integrated into the QF app, however that'll take a lot more work so better to have two apps than to not have any app to deal with vaccination and COVID-19 testing status. It would be simpler for the customer to have it all in the one app.

I think for this offer they'll probably require people to upload their certificate or have some kind of honour system where they trust people to be truthful.

I would also be selecting the 15 status credits purely due to there being very few opportunities to earn SC at the moment without flying.

1,000 points are fairly easy to earn and I'm more than happy to forgo a $20 flight voucher for 15 SC.
