Birmingham to LHR

What are the chances of leaving the Birmingham area in a rental car on a Friday evening 6pm to try and make the 22:00 SQ flight from LHR-SIN?

Is it doable? How are the traffic conditions?

I would have to also return the rental car at LHR before i can check in.
