Paying all Federal taxes on Amex Ultimate or Westpac Kris Flyer Platinum Visa or Amex. Bas,personal, company taxes can all earn points when paying the Tax Office for a small fee.
AAA note on the back of our RAC cards scores hotel discounts in America.
Excellent ideas on hiring cars.
Getting a seat that works for you.
All these ideas came from this forum so I am truly grateful because our family commutes from Perth to lots of the world mainly by using points

$500 StarClass seats MEL-SIN - my ISP seem to block JQ emails... :-|

Serfty,that is really great price.
In Los Angeles Costco has Moet champagne at $29 and a Cuisinart ice-cream and sorbet maker for $39.
This year I am loaded with points from credit cards so I am going to a lot more of the world this year.
I have really appreciated your thoughts on travel as you have saved us more than one heap because I am moving up to five at any one time.

Why limit it to just this year.

Ok so this year only.

The posting of the excellent J class fare to Fiji but with the smart part of buying a one way from Australia and one way in J from Fiji. 360 Status Credits(SCs) for about AUD $1,300.

With the change to seat selection that although you can check in at 24 hours those Silvers and above can search for a better seat at T-80.

I have enjoyed a few good trips this year including F lounge visits with different AFFers which have been
fun.

Thought of some more,
The link to fast track to Hilton Gold, it was a US based promotion, but have Hilton Gold until 3/12.
The Carry On Only thread. Ok so it started years ago but got bumped this year and so I reread it and read all the links so that I was able to do my last trip with carry on only.

Found out about the CitiBuisiness Visa Gold credit card on AFF. 1.25 QFF Pts per $1 spend. Although the transfer isn't automatic - you must call to request a transfer in blocks of 10,000 pts. So now I use this in conjunction with my Amex Ultimate (which I also discovered on AFF last year).

But even better - found out recently that tax bills, including HECS, can be paid by credit card for a fee (0.65 for Visa & 1.25 for Amex) o_0

May not seem big, but these discoveries were huge for me.

The T-80 and T-7 hours tips for seat selection and check in have been great.

Now also HECS payment by CC, thanks to this thread. might have to pay SWMBO's HECS bill some time.

All the flight tips, shame I can't use them.

Finally, all the info I pick up when everyone takes the time to correct me. Thanks for continuing to do that.

Before long we will have up to 21,000 members looking to pay taxes of their own thru to great grand kids HECS bills on credit cards for front of plane redemptions.

Let's see:

- ATO Tax payment by credit card.
- Knowing which companies surcharge.
- Having an idea of what special promos exist in Amex and similar lands.
- Certain special fares that have been mentioned.

There is definitely lots of good info here.

My list below

- The ATO and AMEX.. this one is great, started it this month,
- JASA's, it was a JASA that made me WP in early June.. July here and start of a new QFF year
- Cheap flight suggestions.. am about to book a LAN J flight SYD-AKL and that should give me some good points..

Let alone the many suggestions and ideas that i cant think of right now..

Cheers
Fuzz

Well FuzzyAUS I googled JASA and felt confident you may not be a Jane AUSTEN fan so can you explain JASA?

Sorry Cove,

After i hit reply i thought i should have typed the longer version..

JASA is QF J Any Seat Award or Qantas Business Any Seat Award.. they give you status and points as if you paid for the flights..

So my SYD-BNE return cost me 21000 points in each direction.. so for 42k points i got 2 flights in business class and 80 status credits..

Thanks for that explanation as you cannot see that in Google at the moment.
It also answers a status relegation question I have had where Mrs Cove is back to Bronze and I am back to Silver by not needing to buy tickets.
We do go between Melbourne and Sydney a bit and I had that preconceived idea that Any Seat was a full on joke. I will look again so thanks for not being the Austen Society.

For me so far the best was the priority Club bonus offers. that's to that after a total of 5 nights (1 and 4 nights) i raked in 43k worth of PC points and enough to make me platinum til the end of next year.

The other big one was creative routing. I am hoping a few trips will enable me to hit WP before the year is out. and most will be on business trips too.

Thanks for the Priority Club input as I have only used it for the smorgasbord meals at Burswood in Perth and Intercontinental in Sydney.
My points balance remains at zero after about 3 plus years so I should try their rooms rather than 15 to20 meals a year.

I hit print on the abbreviations for some night time study. Thanks Medhead!
Julia gets several mil from our business so the least we can do is fly the best at the lowest cost by credit carding all her money supply.
Well today I am sitting at The Cove in Marina Del Rey CA watching the World Cup and having the ABC playing on the web so we dont get homesick.

This year… I haven’t taken advantage of the many offers I’ve drooled over, but meeting friends met on here and enjoying their company at lounges and events, and making new friends on here, have been what I would call my biggest wins.

The recommendations from many to use the Wizard Clear Advantage Mastercard when travelling. It was great in HKG.

For me it was being made aware of JQ35 Jetstar's flight from Sydney to Melbourne, but leaving from the international terminal. 3 hours in the first class lounge prior to a short flight to Melbourne a makes for a fab weekend on the cheap.

Good call Sam! The meets have certainly been great nights! Pity I will miss the next BNE one..
