Hi all,

Thanks
Thoughts on front of Y in 48A vs upper deck on 33DorG?
Thanks
Note that only the centre arm rest (between E and F seats) can be raised. The other (between D & E, and between F & G) are fixed.Serfty thanks for sharing the link (and medhead for the pic taken) you have rested my mind for my flight this Friday
And does anyone know why you have to go through 3 lots of security and waste 40 mins at DXB to get back on exactly the same plane???
Why not a transfer room?
Back from my trip of QF1 and 2.
SYD - DXB 36K - the good - window, upper deck, storage bin, no one behind you and good for couples, the bad - as a single I had to ask the lady beside me to move for toilets but anyone sitting on the aisle expects that.
DXB - LHR 35K - the good - legroom, the bad - no window or bin, tiny overhead locker, exit row so your tv has to be folded up for longer
LHR - SYD 80A - the good - window, legroom, the bad - as for 35K plus very noisy/bright as near to galley, and on a half empty plane the centre armrest has the TV etc and cant fold up and allow you to stretch.

Very happy with the seats, more room than I expected. Used my cabin bag as a foot rest so managed a couple of hours sleep. Crew between SYD and DBX were outstanding. Put in an upgrade request on the way home, will see what happens! Thanks again for sharing as I was very close to changing my seats.Sorry it was a bit blurry. What did you think of the seats?
Just called the Plat team to see if I could get some better seats on QF9 on 02/09 in case my upgrade doesn't come through. Agent I spoke to was in New Zealand, with a very strong accent (Non Kiwi). He asked If I would like a Bulk Head seat and offered me 52 A B or C. I queried him and he assured me that these seats where bulk head with extra leg room.
I asked if it was normal to place frequent flyers next to the baby Seats as per 52D and he said he wasn't aware that it was a Baby seat area.
But wait it gets worse he offered me 36D as being nice quiet seat. I am sure you can imagine my Horror hence I politely educated him about that seat and he did ask why do they sell it
If only the premium number went to the premium and experienced staff.
Has Qantas changed its seating arrangement in its A380 since I last flew one? lol

52A/B/C are not bulkhead seats.
Just wanted to report back that our flight on A380 upper deck, seats 36j and k was great. The quietness of the upper deck, service, cosiness of the two seats together, window, large storage bin and flexibility to walk downstairs made it a much more enjoyable trip than the return flight in seats 59 f and g. I'll be saving my FF points for next time now to ensure I can have a good chance of getting seats on upper deck economy on both legs, or better!
Thanks all again for the feedback re: seats 36 j and k.

Did you notice any IFE boxes underneath the seat infront?
Thank you serfty! This is helpful. Will stick with 66G and follow up on my experience after the flight -- in case others have the same concern re: bathroom odors, etc.
