I think I got lucky.. Another thing, how would people react if they sat in the middle of you and u asked if they would swap to an aisle seat? would hate to have the mrs on the other side with someone in the middle and then they refuse to move!
They will more than likely agree to move but if you want to sit together don't take the risk of allocating seats apart.

We do that all the time, but usually offer the window rather than aisle seat. Never had a person not take the offer. However, you need to be ready to accept that someone won't move.

Kinda not willing to give the window up.. Esp with the extra leg room I will have.. WE will just sit together and hope they dont put anyone on the other side of us! :)

I don't mean to be blunt - but your approach is the height of rudeness.

If you are wanting to select A & C, and hope that the B seat stays empty, then the right thing to do is sit in your allocated seats, and if someone shows up - you politely ask them for a swap.

By just sitting in their seat prior to asking, AND "not willing to give the window up" I think you're being a rude entitled ****t.

With your attitude - I would just select A & B and be grateful if the C stays empty.

I read Evo123's post to mean they'll allocate seats next to each other (J+K) and hope the airline doesn't assign anyone into H.

Also when travelling as a couple, I'm not entirely sure how great 80A/K is. The arm rest in between is not moveable and seat 80B/J is from what I feel slightly narrower than other seats. Not to mention (correct me if I'm wrong) the entertainment box under 79B/J. The two seats are worlds apart and pretty much on opposite ends of the seat goodness spectrum.

Of course I would be sitting in the seat I allocated for myself, I was staying that We allocate A and C with the hope no one is allocated with B. If some did get allocated B, thats when I would ask to swap.. BUT IN THE END ITS DECIDED WE CANT GOING TO BOTHER we will just see how things go with just A and B
If you read earlier, I wouldn't give up a seat that cost me $25 when now its costs $180 for that seat. So next time you think I'm a rude prick, maybe you should read some posts before coming out with the wrong impression.

I didn't call you a rude prick.

I said that your approach (as I read it) was the height of rudeness.

I call posts out on a post by post basis.... Not the person.

As Caviack clarified - I misread your post, which you have now clarified.

You have decided the window is more important than a shadow and therefore have decided to choose A&B which I view as the correct approach.

I have a question guys. First time poster here!

I'm flying to New York in March and have booked 35K on the A380. I also noted that seat 80K is available too.

Which seat might be better and why?
Also I like to try and sleep with my head up against the window, is this possible in either seat?

Thanks guys.

I like upstairs as it feels less cattle-class. Plus you get great storage bins. But 35K has no window or storage bin... If you can get 32 or 33 - do it.

I haven't done 80K sorry.

In 35K is it possible to sleep with your head on the window or is it too far away?

Is 35K complimentary? There is a charge now for 80K of $180 each way.

My first time in economy in a A380, hope this info is still relevant....

Have got 35K for DXB - LHR, and 80A for the LHR -SYD trip back weeks later...had to pay for them. Only Silver status.
SYD - DXB had no good options left so picked a window right at the back (84 I think), the back half of the plane seems lightly loaded so hoping for a row to myself...or at least a spare seat.
Will check again at T80.
Anyone know about how long we spend on the ground in DXB?

Thanks for that. I assume that's QF2 on the way back?
My flight on the way over arrives at 00:40...but I have a stopover so don't care about that bit.

Yes QF2. QF1 also spends 1h45 on the ground (12:40am to 2:25am)

OK, OK, I know it's not QF, but wondered if anyone has done the BA A380 in Y....if so, I can't find pics or reports that show clearly if 70A/K or 80A/K have side storage? (which are kind of equivalent to my fave upper deck QF TY seats of 32 A/K).

Thanks

I am flying QF94 LAX-MEL on this new configuration in May.

I already flew the same flight in Feb, in seat 32J, which was good - I managed to sleep a fair chunk of time. I am 6'2, and would say there was definietely more legroom at the bulkhead than in say 33J (which I had for the MEL-LAX leg in Feb). However the incredible amount of legroom available in row 35 was intriguing.

I really prefer the upper deck, and I have 32A/B J/K available, as well as 35DEF. 35JK are already filled :(. I am a WP1 until the end of the month so the exit row fee is waived for me if I select the seat in the next 8 days. I previously called up and selected 35D but after reading about DEF on here changed it back to 32A.

Anyone travelled in 35DEF, and care to pipe up with advice? My considerations are:
- Being able to sleep
- Comfort/leg room - if I can stretch out that's great. I found 32J to be just adequate in this regard.

I also really enjoy a window seat with a view.

Given the window, the side storage, and the reasonable chance I score a WP shadow, I am leaning to 32A atm.
